THIS message i completely understand. love, completely crosses all planes.

this shot is so well done mary, the way you lit or didn't light, (i'm not sure) but the shadows and the way the gown just seems to hold her. it's as though the symbolism of what the gown stands for is keeping her together because she can't be with her beloved. like she would just pour out of it if it weren't holding her. it's magnificent. i understand this. this grabs me in the chest and i can't breathe.

tell her the gown is stunning

i did alterations on my own gown on jc's page the webcam image ~psychosis- i don't think i could undertake an entire gown. that fabric is so fragile, and those beads and lace are so expensive, i'm a clutz i'd be loosing all of them. her mother is to be commended for doing something not only so HARD but emotional!

yeah - its all done with that invisible thread - and when you realize she didn't buy the lace that way but sewed on the beads/sequins - its just astounding i always tell Isabel "do you REALIZE how much this gown would have cost retail". the train is HEAVY its so beaded. but yeah - its a labor of love

see that's so what i'd love to do for my girls. i might have to settle since there's three of them, with just helping them pick out gowns, but i want to share that experience. *though i do know how to do applique bead work* YAY! my mom seemed a bit put off by the whole thing. when you have your family sharing the experience with you, it makes it even more special and even more bonding with the person you've chosen.

I'm not really sure what this is about, but this pic seems so emotional to me... so powerful..
The long dress and the angle at which it's seen is just stunnung for me...when I first looked at it I was something close to face..
The steps that are kind of not horizontal, they add so much to the mood, like the world is spinning wild, and I think that adds to the sorrowful mood as you described it. Wonderful contrast of textures, I like how the silk is kind of overexposed...
Very emotional..sniff

This is it! This is it on the money. You had a concept and you flowed it through perfectly to achieve incredible emotion from your piece. It's absolutely stunning. The dress really picks up the tones of the black and white beautifully, and her position on the stairs is so final, so painful. This is the perfect example of when concept and execution come together perfectly.

Well done hon

The dress is gorgeous. Her pose is curious...not sure what you're trying to say here...originally, I thought it was something submissive, but now I'm not so sure.

At any rate, a great shot, m'dear. I do love Isabel...

Wow.... that dress is gorgeous... I want a mum like that too I like the silvery tones in this, especially the texture of the stone - in the lower part it looks like it has shiny.. things scattered on it, and the stairs look all silvery... (ok, my commenting skills are a bit low today)

her mother made that for over a year parts of the lace in the dress come from pieces that were in other dresses that she had worn as a child in other ceremonies in her religion such as her confirmation, etc. the day she married her mother was still sewing on beads on the train. it was beyond touching to see and the dress was stunning in person

very nice composition and perspective. its a nice contrast with the monochrome, as well as the dress with the ground.

well done!

What a gorgeous piece mary
I absolutely adore everythign about it, I literally gasped when I saw it
I just love how her dress spreads out, blanketing the ground like freshly fallen snow ..
It contrasts beautifully against the dark gritty looking ground, purity and beauty against the grunge of the earth ..
I find the angle adds a much more exciting dynamic to it, it draws your eye up towards her, and against the gown which almost has the illusion of filling the image, she looks quite small and almost frail.

The tone and contrast are fantastic! I love the graininess of the stone. And contrast that with the pure smoothness of the gown and you have something wonderful.
