Ready for a BREAKDOWN, BREAKDOWN ?!
Now we go back to the author's favorite part and his (supposedly) favorite JoJo. This may shock you, but... I am actually not that surprised that Joseph put his knife into some other chick's scabbard. That would disappoint his Grandpa though www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF2CK_… ... and he's lucky it's not Erina he's got to meet there !
Now, you may think I've been severe towards Part 3 last time ? Well I do have similar reproaches for Part 4, so basically the same consensus. The highs are high and the lows are fucking skippable... aaaand Araki could have used some characters much better. The biggest problem Part 4 has is what people claim tobe its biggest strength: the so-called Morioh warriors/community. It simply is not one. Some characters that should have been ditched got to stick around and I find that utterly ridiculous. Say what you will about DIO's cult and its hit or miss quality in terms of agents, BUT at least they were under HIS grasp and consistently antagonistic towards the Crusaders. Here ? Hazamada, Tamami and Yukako should have been ditched straight after their initial arcs as they offer nothing OR diminish other characters. Yes I think Yukako fucking hurts my respect towards Koichi AND YES Araki should have used Tomoko as Aya's customer as SHE would have been a far more fitting candidate for the Cinderella chapter with a far more enigmatic pay-off when you know what follows.

With that said, the ACTUAL Morioh gang is damn good and their interactions are indeed worth my time. And our JoJo here, the Pompadour man and Greaser king of the little town is pretty damn good ! Amusingly, Josuke is the second luckiest JoJo after Joseph. Sure he lost his grandad to a goddamn asshole BUT he survived Kira and ended up with 2 living best friends so that they can keep going with their Mickey Mouse comics styled shenanigans. I am aware a lot of people prefer Koichi over Josuke when it comes to "best protagonist" in this section... I HEAVILY DISAGREE.
Upon rereading, my issues with Koichi got clearer: he ping-pongs too much between walkover and genuine good guy... and the so-called development is scatter-shot. (Funnily enough, there's a character that Araki succeeded in making not only a good guy BUT one with the fucking resolve to make me consider him with awe, but most Part 4 fanboys on Myanimelist despise THAT guy...). Josuke does not have that issue at all because it's less a change in personna than it is him showing/discovering his more astute and inventive side. As for the hair sensitivity, meh, his great grandfather was yeeting douchebags from the bannister when angry, so in retrospect , it just runs in the Joestar family.
