I've got to hand it to Ed and Al, they managed to create a pretty freaky parody of they dear departed mommy (give or take a few red stones adjustments...).
And as Sloth is driven by apathy and peace of mind (unlike Lust, who is obsessed with her own completion...), she sees the Elric Bros as an obstacle to said peace. She does not want to have anything to do with Trisha and wants to be her own person. Even the possibility of ending up forgiving and growing to like them revulses her to her core. And she'd have succeeded had cremation been more popular than burials !
Not gonna lie, this is the horror arc that stuck with me the most from FMA-03, and considering how many horror elements it had...
