This contains spoilers because.... well otherwise the image effect won't be as strong .To the left , you have the cartoon Roger everyone knows and love . He's coocoo , nice and wacky .
To the right , the book's Roger . Not such a nice guy, he creates doppelgangers in order to not get killed .He speaks in word balloons which appear above his head as he talks then they crumble to dust . He does not have a voice and actually murders someone ... In fact he is close to THIS characterization [link] ... Maybe that type of toon should be in a horror movie (the creepy kind not the gory sort or else it will become hilarious ...) .

I don't blame poor film Roger for being unsettled with his original book counterpart. I mean who wouldn't be freaked out about meeting a version of you that's more despicable in every sense of the word? I now want to see how the film versions of Jessica Rabbit,Baby Herman and Eddie Valiant react to their book counterparts.

Book Roger: And there can only be one you!!!Β
He pulls the trigger and BANG!!!Β
Film Roger: OUCH!!! That hearts!!!Β
Book Roger is in shocking surprise and then shots him again and again.Β
Film Roger: OUCH!!! Oh!!! Ech!!! Aww!!! Can you stop it hearts so much that's it's starting to tickle!!!Β
Book Roger: I don't understand why are you not dieing?Β
Film Roger now looking like cheese: Everyone knows that we toons can't be killed!Β
Book Roger: No!!! NO!!! This can't be! There can only be one me!!!Β
And then Book Roger creates a doppelgΓ€nger of himself!!!Β
Film Roger: Holy P-PP-P Jesus!!! There are three Rogers in the room now!!!Β
Book Roger hands the pistol to himself.Β
Book Roger: Do it!!!Β
The doppel aims the pistol at himself. BANG!!! Book Roger falls to the ground dead while his doppel drops the gun and dissolves way in fort of Film Roger's horrified face.Β
Film Roger: By the P-PP-Person who made me!!! I sure hope this doesn't mean I am framed for marder again!!!

I just recently read the book. Roger was one evil genius the way he was using Eddie. That clip you gave captured book Roger very well. I found out that when writer Gary Wolf wrote a sequel he retconn it so that the original book was all just a dream. So Roger on the right never existed. Personally, I like to think of book Roger as his evil cousin.

It would be interesting if there was a drawing of book and film Jessica Rabbit. I think the film Jessica Rabbit would be disgusted by her book version because she is a gold digging witch who was only with Roger in order to climb the social ladder.Β
I also think that film Roger would be uneasy around his book version because the book version of him does murder someone and tries to force his wife to love him. Even worse tried to blame the murder on Eddie.Β

That 's indeed an interesting concept ! People always underestimate the "Horror Toon" concept, hence why Cool World was utterly sabotaged and wrecked . But I think the novel of Roger Rabbit can make for an interesting 40 minutes film subject

Come to think of it-it could make a potential plot for a sort of sequel to the film; the original version of Roger Rabbit goes after his later incarnation because he's pissed about how his creators abandoned him.
