Wow, I have not posted on D.A for a while. My bad, Ive just been off working on a few things recently but hey, new art!This is a lil loving for Silent Hill 0rigins, the PSP prequal to the Silent Hill Franchise. From what I have played so far, I like it. Its got all the old faves, some twisted new creatures, and I think its worth getting the console for.
Anyway, this image of Alessa was first drawn on canvas paper and then painted in greyscale with watercolours, before being coloured in Photoshop. No imported textures or filters, just good old brushes and blending modes.
I want to live there so badly.

Yup, I know. Twisted. But still, Its a lovely lakeside location, with beautiful swirling fog, and so peaceful too.

Silent Hill is the greatest movie I've seen.
Silent Hill was based on Centralia Pennsylvania. Well the film at least.
I am faving this because of its greatness.

I really like the background, and I like how she become a part of it and then comes into view towards the bottom half of her body. It's really creepy!
The grayscale underneath looks like it was helpful, did it work out better for shading?

This is really fantastic. The textures are subtle, so they're not distracting. I also love Alessa's calmness... I still gotta cosplay her with Bree sometime. |D

Oh wow, thanks Delz. I really wanted to try to bring more of the traditional texture in rather than laying stuff over it in Photoshop and killing it dead. Having it all in watercolour to begin with really helped. Im glad that if you look carefully you can still see the canvas texture of the paper, really helped. I was gonna do something with the weed/crack bit in the bottom right but now it just looks... bleah, crappy. Might remove it later on. But yeah, Sign me up for a vacation there Anyday!
