Description
This is first cover of many now that I'm the new cover artist on Deadpool. Using the color rendering technique that I talked about on the Hitman Monkey no. 2 cover. It's fun. Hell, the cover was fun.Hope you all approve.

ah, i see. it just appeared to me that there were two different "layers", if you will. i had read your description on this piece before i read the "monkey hitman" description. im very familiar with your traditional way of coloring your art, and i really couldn't tell the deadpool piece was digitally colored. i had just assumed you did an ink and wash drawing on cardboard, then applied color pencil and possibly acrylic. long story short, its great work and a step in a completely different direction in a sense that you're using different tools to accomplish a similar task. well done.

The two illustrations I think look great. Personally I like the Hitman Monkey more.
The digital-painting-looking-traditional is great effect.
It also looks like you drew on grainy Chipboard, which looks cooler on top of it.

You know, in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, I was very disappointed in one of Joker's Fatality Moves where Joker pulls out a gun and it springs out the BANG flag, but instead of launching that flag to pierce the opponent like in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, he just pulled a another gun and fired a regular bullet.
