Name: Kovu
Name Meaning: scar (Swahili)
Status: Heir and Prince of the Outlanders (disbanded from), Intended Prince of the Pridelands
Relations: Adopted son of Scar and Zira , adopted brother to Nuka and Vitani , Mate to Kiara
Summary: Kovu, named for his frighteningly similar appearance to Scar, is expected to become his namesake from the very beginning. Every one from his mother, siblings, pride, and even Simba’s pride sees him as only one thing: Scar’s image living on even after the great kings demise. Which means that leaves little room for Kovu to find out who he is as an individual.

As can be expected it causes serious conflict form within. He loves the praise and he even comes to like the training and fighting he under goes, becoming a fine warrior and hunter even at young age. But he knows deep down he doesn’t want to hurt any one nor gain the throne through violent means: he has natural sense of honor and shyness in that regard. But faced with no other alternative, he continues to follow Zira’s instructions, only allowed to let down his guard when he manages to sneak off on private walks.

And then he bumps into the Princess of the Pridelands on one of these walks, the experience changing him forever. For the first time in his life, he meets some one who does not see him as Kovu: Scar’s heir. Only as Kovu the lion, another cub and a potential playmate. Intrigued he seeks her out again and continues to see her in private for the next few years, becoming her best friend and loyal guardian. He does not need to pretend to be something he is not nor hold up to impossible expectations, she accepts him just the way he is. It liberating and he comes to love her for it, this adoration and there pre-existing friendship eventually blossoming into something more. He finally becomes certain about who he is and what he believes in, for Kiara is his entire world now. And he’d do anything and everything for her: even defying his own mother and pride.

Kovu didn't really need much of a overhaul in the character sheet department, I just felt that sense Kiara was getting one I'd give him one too (he'll be playing a equally important roles alongside her). This is what he'll look like as a adult fyi, he won't get a terribly big mane or grow to Mufasa's size but he'll still be impressive lion. Kiara knows how to pick them no? :3
