's Slate and Pyramon

Dark Digidestined walk a dangerous path. Some, like ~IrateResearchers 's Xavier or ~WindGear 's Scarlet relish their cruel actions. Others, like my Masadur are easily tempted by the power of the vices they wield. Slate was the one Dark Digidestined of them all who drew on darkness and yet had a will strong enough to control it.

's Zora Yamazuki and Kyumon

After all that she's been through, Zora struck me as eternally watchful. Not frightened of or aggressive against others as you might expect, but alert and determined to make sure she wouldn't be taken advantage again. That, I admire.

's Az Shaw and Spimon

Az is always, always scowling, so I wanted to draw to draw the one moment she might actually be smiling, however fleeting. She's a fierce martial artist, and in the course of her Savate practice, when there is no one around she has to put up an intimidating front for and only her imaginary opponent to spar with, she unwittingly cracks a smile.

Art style aside, Az probably has the longest limbs of any of the digidestined. Strange things you notice when studying ref sheets.

And last but not least, 's Xavier Trost and Mendmon.

Red hair, glasses, egocentric personality and genius-level skill in some field? It has finally hit me, Xavier is an evil version of Dexter from Dexter's Lab. Only Mendmon can stop Evil Dexte- I mean... Xavier, from pushing the big, red lab self-destruct button!
