Description
So, this is the first of a New Series I’m working on. I wanted to try something a little different from my usual designs. I like it, it’s a lot more simple compared to my usual style. Hope you like it.Influences:
1. Rammstein: A great metal band to create to.
2. The Cell: A very creepy twisted film.
Material:
Pencil: Derwent Graphic Soft: H, HB, 2B, 5B and 9B.
Colours: Derwent Graphic: Tan, Orange, Brown, Yellow
Pen: Stabilo Sensor Fine Liner (black), Stabilo Permanent (black), Black Ball Point.
Gel: Thick Red smooth ink, Thick Black smooth ink, Thick Gold smooth ink.
Paper: Sea White of Brighton: A3 in size, yet image is A4 in size. 150 g/m²
Creation Time: 24 hours, 10 minutes (spun over 2 days)

Awesome concept! I really love the colors, the shading, and the concept! They blend well together! But, I think that the arm and the face could be worked on a little bit more. The symmetry seems a bit off with those two portions of the body. Anyways Keep up the awesome work John!

Apart the face, that looks somewhat strange and not really fitting with the rest of the body ( to me), I love the concept, the colours and the way everything turned out.. The watch.. is it twelve hours, or the usual 13?

I like how the colors set a sober mood to this. A very set, almost... I don't know quiet. Regardless of the spirits here, but I think. Maybe it would have been more dramatic had her eyes been open though.

I like the drawing, it rocks. But no offense, Rammstein suck. My best friend loves them. I can't see why. They don't even sing in English and the lyrics translated are like the same thing over and over again and its a really simply sentence. A bit lame.
I haven't seem the Cell, but it sounds awesome. What's it about?

Hey man just got back from like 2 week vacation to England and France. Nice work here. Yeah its more simple and less dark than usual but i still realy like it. I love seeing artists tackle styles that they do not usually do. My favorite parts are the design on the fabric at the bottom and the somewhat reversed drawing style of the ghostly figures in the background...nice work

I like this a lot, and you're right it is a lot different from your regular composition. Something about the red strands floating from the clock really catches my eye, it goes nicely with the gold edges on the larger part of her garmet.

Interestingly, this piece looks totally different to your previous works, but you're still using same colours and same style. Those ghostly figures behind are a bit of exception.

Oh wow, I like how this turned out!
The composition really works, especially in the tendrils of fabric and the negative space. Nice use of contrasting textures, too (I love how the red fabric looks so soft, but her skin has a certain roughness). And, as always in your work, the selective application of colour draws makes for a layered and eye-catching piece.

I just use 'edding 2190 gel roller', not really a special brand, but nice and smooth and thick

Love it. And I love The Cell. Vincent D'Onofrio is phenomenal in the role as Starger. I absolutely loved him. The costuming and set design were amazing, too.
