Description
Time Force has a phenomenal opening. A narrator tells us that we are a thousand years in the future. We see a futuristic city and a giant robot, is it a Zord? Things aren't all fine, however, as a police group surrounds a building. Inside is a man with a mask covering part of his face, scars on one arm and garbed in black and silver. He calmly places some unknown things around, and approaches an archway. He looks up and roars "If I can't rule the present... Then I'll just rule the past!" A Red Ranger comes in to stop whatever his plans are, meanwhile outside we see people in white uniforms, one has green hair and an Edenite-style crystal on his forehead.
Inside the building, the masked man, Ransik, battles the Red Ranger.
Random reveals a disturbing ability, he pulls a bone from his leg, which turns onto a sword. The Red Ranger, Alex, apprehends and arrests Ransik. The object Ransik had was a time travel device, Alex hands it over to his superior. One of the white suited people, a young woman named Jen, runs to hug Alex.
Later Ransik is in court. The white suited people are there, and we are introduced to them. Trip, the man with green hair has a robot owl with him. Circuit, the owl has a childlike voice. In the court's audience is also an ominous woman with pink hair. Ransik is found guilty of whatever it was he was charged with, and is sentenced to life in cryogenic suspension. I wonder how long that is?
The pink haired woman gives him a look, and leaves. Jen watches as Ransik is escorted out of the courtroom, her expression conveys suspicion.
Ransik is secured in a transport. On their way, they suddenly stop. A woman is lying on the road, it's the woman with pink hair from earlier. Her fingernails extend into blades, and she slashes at the police. She tosses her black outfit to reveal a white one. Before she can attack the transport, Jen orders it to keep going, but it's then bombarded with missiles, knocking it over and allowing Ransik to escape.
The woman in white and a large gold robot come to Ransik. The woman, formerly violent now skips over to Ransik, behaving like a child. She even calls him "Daddy". Ransik speaks to her gently. Before he can be too humanized, we see him laugh evil as Jen collapses.
Later she contacts her superiors, who relieve them of duty after blaming them for Ransik's escape. A young man with short black hair then aggressively asks the green haired man, Trip why he didn't tell them this would happen. We learn Trip is Xybrean, and they can occasionslly read minds.
Ransik, meanwhile has made it to a Time Force facility where he can go back in time. Inside, we see a monstrous looking being led inside a tube and put in cryogenic suspension. Just as a big froglike creature is about to endure the same procedure, the pink haired woman, Nadira, disrupts everything.
Back with Jen and her team, Trip receives a vision of Ransik infiltrating the Time Force facility. They decide to try to recapture him. They commandeer a car, Katie, a young woman throws the driver over her head after he speaks rudely to her. Trip tells the man she threw they're sorry.
Ransik is about to activate a time device, when he sees Alex, the Red Ranger from before on a security camera. He goes to face him. Jen's team just in time to see Ransik deliver a killing blow to Alex. Ransik leaves and Alex hands his morpher to Jen. The others watch on, shocked. Jen has an idea, they steal an experimental time machine. She has confidence that Lucas, the young man with short black hair, can pilot it.
They fly through a portal, and we end here...

This is an amazing start to one of the most exciting seasons of Power Rangers. So much is turned on its head here, there's only one morphed Ranger in the entire episode, and he dies! We follow the villains, and a group of policemen. The characters are all pretty well introduced, we learn their names, mostly, and a little bit of their abilities.
There are also so many mysteries set up, what time will they go back to? Who will Jen give the morpher to? Are there more Rangers? Well, we know that one because of the theme song... Why does Katie have super strength? What are Ransik's crimes?
I love this season and I'm looking forward to rewatching it.
