Description And the last of the FCBD pieces.

Not too happy with how these two came out, so might as well pair them together.

When I think Punisher, I think Mike Zeck. He's always been a huge inspiration for me, dating all the way back to his GIJoe covers which just lept off the page and of course his Punisher and Captain America work (and sweet Batman covers). Plus he was a great mentor to me when I was first trying to break into comics...would look at my work and give me a lot of helpful advice.

Nowadays he mainly works on the commercial side of art, as well as private commissions. I miss seeing his comic work, but happy to see whatever he's up to whenever I get the chance.

And Ghost Rider is just Nick Cage on fire. They could've saved the sfx budget and just doused him in gasoline. Right?!

Man, Zeck has always been one of my faves. I just wish I had never gotten rid of my Zeck Punisher poster that I bought at Sierra Comics when I was a muchacho.
Don't forget Whilace Portacio's Punisher run too. That stuff was brutal!

Great work, great idea for Cage.

Yeah I remember those Punisher posters...classic stuff.
Totally forgot about Portacio on that book. By that time, I wasn't even following it.

Yeah, I think he's a bit under the radar when it comes to Punisher artists. I remembered that it was him, Jim Lee, and Mike Zeck that really got me into the character.

How long does it take to do a sketch like this? Does the fluidity come from pure speed with the brush, or is it more about a steady hand and not necessarily about how fast it gets done?

Probably a lil bit of all that. Once I sorta have the rough down on the page, the ink sorta goes fast...not to just keep the fluidity but to keep me from getting bored with it (sad but true, as I usually am ready to move onto something else). 1 character start to finish usually takes about 20-30 minutes or so, or sometimes less.

lol dousing him with gasoline.... you're wrong bro!=] I think of Zeck a lot too when it comes to the punisher like I think of the Romita's when i think of Spider-man..... they're the innovators that defined the characters from my experience of seeing those guys..... I think i am starting to think of Ivan Reis when i see GL too..... who else do you think is the best artist that goes with what characters? ( i don't know if i composed that sentence correctly lol)

When I think Fantastic Four, I think Kirby. Hulk I started and got hooked when McFarlane was on it, and Keown put in a good run, and wish that Adam Kubert had a longer go at it. And there's been a lot of artists on the Hulk. Those are just a few off the top of my head.

Kirby on FF is crazy! gotta see him, But I gotta see Wieringo on them..... I gotta run with you with the hulk, Keown is number 1, kubert is a DAMN close second.... he did his thing there. then Lee Weeks, that run was crazy..... i Never knew how good that guy was until i saw him render real life WITH drawing the Hulk..... Wolverine I see Francis Lienil Yu, Batman i see Lee or Neal Adams.Ghost rider I see texiera, and Thor i see Simonson.... all classic material=]

That would have made it a much shorter movie.
