Did you ever get your subscription for winning this contest?

Nope >.> Nor did I hear from the admins since that last journal 7 weeks ago.

Seems like it was a real rip off. I'm starting to wonder why people hold competitions on dA. It seems like half of them don't hold through on the prizes, and the other half have so many people enter that you have no chance of winning

Dhuaine In reply to parallellogic [2008-11-20 00:10:44 +0000 UTC]

True... I'm so disappointed the club didn't keep their word, it was the first time I won something so big It wasn't the first time I've seen prizes not being issued, but the others were simple stock packs and features. Contest holders can't be fully responsible for donators - but when they promise their own prizes, they should hold on to them.
Lol, now I should be humble and say I enter contests just for art's sake, eh? XD Nah, I have enough personal projects to last me for a lifetime, I don't need external motivations that much. Sure, if the theme is very very interesting... But yeah, that's the problem with contests on dA. Most often entering is just not worth the time and effort when I have another things to manip. ^^'

~Solutions: scroll the page, the difference may disappear or change to 2-3px. This is IE6 bug.
Typical IE bug, had that with my CSS too

~Lists still having left padding in IE6. No idea why
You'd probably need to make a new class and give it a left padding or margin of -40px; (not sure which would work) and wrap it around the lists

~Footer tilted right in IE6 when amount of text in content is smaller than in sidebar.
I take it you are talking about the moods at the bottom? You want them centered?
In the CSS code under
.list {
change
text-align:right;
padding-left:0;
to
text-align:center;
padding-left:160px;

Good luck in the contest

Haha, lists fixed! It was indeed margin, lol. Seems that FF/Opera give lists paddings and IE6 gives them margins. I zeroed it and it works. ''

I take it you are talking about the moods at the bottom? You want them centered?
Nope, the moods should stay at the right I meant that if sidebar is longer than content, then in IE6 the moods section will be moved to the right (the footer image). In other browsers it's ok.

~the footer image
Oh, the image, I see. I wouldn't worry about it though, journals tend to be pretty long on average anyway, so the side bar should be short enough in comparison

Yup, that's why I left it be. Still, it irks me a little bit. ''

Gorgeous! You should already know how I feel about this

I really think it is beautiful. Can't understand why you haven't done anything like this before (except for that it takes so long to code )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dhuaine In reply to RebeccaRose [2008-08-22 01:02:48 +0000 UTC]

Thank you

Nah, first steps of coding aren't that tiring. It's IE6 incompabilities and bloody fonts and colors that drive me nuts, but I actually like setting the layout. This was my first time with dA css, but I'm no beginner xD Heck, if I ever got to do commisions I would sooner take css designs than photomanips
Back to topic... there were two major reasons:
1) I'm lazy. Too lazy to check div names and positions
2) I ABSOLUTELY HATE making graphics x____x 90% of stuff I design for webpages ends up in trash. I don't mind making secondary images for specific tags, but main gfx... UGH.
Yeah. xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RebeccaRose In reply to Dhuaine [2008-08-25 23:51:36 +0000 UTC]

I think I'm the opposite...I love the graphics part, but don't like doing the coding (not that I can't or don't know how of course, it is just tedious)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dhuaine In reply to RebeccaRose [2008-08-30 12:17:26 +0000 UTC]

My layouts usually are pretty complex so playing with divs positioning is also fun (My friends think I'm masochist because of that -.-) But damn these fonts and colours >.>
Btw. Last time I was on your website some links were broken o.o

Nerahye [2008-08-14 10:17:29 +0000 UTC]

Zbyt ciemno, zbyt ciemno. I paradoksalnie męczy wzrok.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dhuaine In reply to Nerahye [2008-08-20 23:01:11 +0000 UTC]

Prócz wydrukowania czegoś i porównania XD
Ty przynajmniej widzisz tę nutkę granatu

Kalibracja do gamma 2.2?
