This was the first of the series I did featuring megatron and his prize warrior Devastator. One of my personal favorites. Pencils by me, inks by Clayton Brown and colors by the amazing Twincruiser brothers. Hope you dig it!-Mark

so all awesomeness set aside (this is AWESOME lol) how do you go about drawing transformers? ive tried painting them a few times but it seems like my dimensions are always off, just practice makes perfect? or is there some kinda trick i dont know about lol. also amazing work from the twincruiser brothers, do they just use digital media to color everything and give the halo effects? and if so what is being done by clayton brown with the inks? I always assumed comics were colored with ink(although i have no idea how it could ever produce the look i see in comics.
hope you have time to respond at some point because im rather interested in upping my painting/ airbrushing abilities, sick transformers pics like this being my holy grail lol.

Mark, this is one of my favourite pieces of Transformers art ever (so much so I had a go at doing a version myself from the same perspective using Menasor instead). I've got to ask though, Is there a special technique you use for making the perspective of the buildings look a bit curved? I find it hard enough trying to get the perspective looking accurate just using straight lines!

YES! I LOVE YOU!!! it's the original megatron with the original devestator!!!! the movie pissed me off horribly when the changed megatrons look and forms and made devestator just a one robot deceptocon unlike his true godly potential of the destructocons!

oh, ok i didn't know that? and rise of the fallen? is that a sequal to the transformers movie they're coming out with? i havn't heard of it... may be because i don't read blogs about that kinda stuff... or read them at all 
but ya the tank forms were more practical to it but i was just such a die hard fan of the original movie and the original series that i always got mad when people did their own personal alterations to the classic legacy... like when they made the transformer megatron like he heir the beast machine megatron and turned him into a dragon....

That was a mistake on part of the dialouge, the Decepticon that was identified as Devastator was in fact named Brawl, Devastator was the original going name for the mech and they failed to make the apporopret alterations. In all other media, toys included, he is reffered to as Brawl.
The Constructicons may or may not appear on in Rise of the Fallen, given which rumors you believe.
Personally, I was always a fan of the tank form/s. The gun alt. mode always seemed so...impractical.
My only real complaint about the movie designs were the lack of color schemes. Though each Transformer was very unique in design and appearance, it became hard to identify which Transformer was which durning the final battle unless they used close up shots.
BB, Optimus, and the decepticons were really the easiest to identify.

That's the Transformers I grew up with and love, not that overly busy piles of scrap metal that's out in theaters now. I wasn't even able to fully enjoy the fight scenes. I couldn't tell which bot was which.

Amazing, you have taken my favourite Gestault and increased his coolQuotient. The distortion of the background as well as the overall detail in the piece is alluring.
