Continuing from this post:TFP: Aqua the Mermechian by Diamond-Snowflake on DeviantArt This is Aqua's older brother. Sirius Magnus, heir to the Mermechian throne as Prime. Unlike Aqua, Sirius is based more off of a sea serpent.
While he can come off as a stern leader, he's actually very kind and considerate. Just and fair, though his emotions could tend to cloud his judgment. Especially when it comes to his sister Aqua. After the Great Collapse, when Unicron was being resurrected, their parents where unfortunately lost with hundreds of others in the destruction, leading the two younglings to be adopted by their grandmother, who retook the mantle of Prima in the aftermath of the chaos to lead the remaining survivors. Sirius witnessed their parents' destruction firsthand, using himself as a shield to protect his little sister from the debris and horrors happening around them. From that day forward, he vowed to do whatever it takes to protect his remaining family and people. Even if it means enforcing the vows of isolation, forbidding mermechians from ever going above the waves ever again. Even if it means keeping certain secrets of his own from his family, from that day of destruction. Trying to keep his people safe in the routines to follow for decades, as well as trying to keep Aqua safe as her curiosity grew. This obviously strains their relationship, leading him to question what to do as his fears of losing those around him act on his temper and attempts of keeping her safe while also being a good leader. Then the events of the night of the storm and what follows break his patience. The two get into the big fight, where he tries to make Aqua see reason in the choices made and why he tries so hard to keep her away from the surface world. However, this leads to Aqua proclaiming that she hates him, and will never forgive him. Then, the explosion goes off, leading to the siblings being pushed toward the shallows.
After gathering himself, he finds himself beaten, but unharmed, before panic sets in as he franticly searches the area for his sister. When he finds her, he's horrified. She layed on the rocks, deathly still, and when he makes his way to her resting spot, he despairs at the sight of her deadly injuries. He falls into deep sorrow, realizing that she may never survive this, choosing to stay by her side to comfort her, hoping and praying that somehow, she may survive long enough for help to arrive.....or until she passes. He regrets his actions and apologizes and grieves for his sibling for hours, and by the time help does arrive, they make it clear to him that Aqua won't make it. He holds her in his embrace, refusing to let his sister go and is forcefully pried from his spot beside her. As he is dragged away, his sorrow filled cries of grief and anguish ring through the growing space, Aqua trying to call back until she seizes and falls unconscious from Energon loss. Sirius, bearing witness, gives in to his sorrow, and is pulled into the depths without getting to say a proper goodbye or apology. Never turning his gaze away from where he last saw her.
He falls into a heavy depression afterword, blaming himself for his sister's death and mourning his failure to protect his family for days on end. In the silence of his chambers, reflecting where everything could have gone wrong and what he should do now, he receives word from a scouting party he sent to collect Aqua's body. Her body is gone, nowhere to be found, with and old Energon trail leading farther up the shore and into the mainland. In that moment, in his solitude, a dark change happens. His grief turns to a silent rage, a fury so strong with one goal now in mind. Destroy the land-dwellers in vengeance for his sisters unneeded death. They took her from him, and now deny her a proper burial, for that he will never forgive them for their crimes against his home and people. A dark and foreboding force comes over him, one he's known from the day of the Great Collapse. One that sends tingling pain from his shoulder out and whispers in his audios of horrific yet addictive power to bring enemies low and rise him to his believed destiny of Prime. After years of ignoring it and resisting its temptation, he lets it wash over him now. Flowing into his veins as his desire for vengeance corrupts him, unaware of the truths to be reveled in the future to come.
