Just having fun with color. This is based off of a painting in the third Dinotopia book, Journey to Chandara, by James Gurney. I modified the original a bit. I'm not a dino expert... is Pterodactyl a family of flying dinos or a specific species???I have an uncolored version where it is also broken down into basic lines and shapes here: [link]

To answer your question, flying "dinosaurs" aren't technically dinosaurs at all--their kind is referred to as pterosaurs.
I don't think Pterodactyl is actually the name of any specific one, but a more colloquial term used for any kind of pterosaur (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

those colors make it look like one of the "Jurassic Park: Chaos Effect" figures I had when I was a kid.
