I actually thought of a much better way that they could have resolved the episode with a very good life lesson. What should have happened was that Pinkie does make it to Yakyakistan and returns with Prince Rutherford's father, the King. His father would then scold Rutherford for being an extremely poor foreign diplomat and representation of his people. The lesson learned: Don't judge a whole race/culture/nationality by the actions of a few.

I am not sure if I should be impressed by Twilight's resolve and confidence in this comic ( which I find to be quite epic).
Or if I should feel pity towards her, considering that by rules of story-telling in MLP, all powerful alies are never assisting or becomes powerless, the most powerful characters either does nothing, are defeated or fail. The tension is forcefully raised for the sake of the conflict, so in the end the same group of heroes saved the day with the magic of friendship and stuff.
So yeah... kind of sad that no matter how many villains they reform and how many powerful alies they get, in the end it will always be up to small group of heroes to save the day because everyone else become useless for one reason or another.

That's the one thing I never got about this episode,I congratulate Pinkie and Twilight for trying to be peaceful, but this would have been the best solution. What's best about this is that none of it is even an exaggeration.

Yakyakistan perhaps... but not the Yak race. Even if no individual Yaks surrender and the Ponies actually use lethal force and NO long-term mind-control spells* the ponies would allow the Calves to young to remember to grow up among loving adoptive families who will teach them the path of Harmony... Even if the violence is in the blood*, I think that between Hockey, boxing/martial arts tournaments, and perhaps the military they should be able to get their 'fixes'.
*Not taking a position on either of these at this time, just covering the most lethal case.

As a Canadian, I approve of the use of hockey in this manner. It's been hypothesized that we're so nice because we save all our aggression for the rink. (That I don't really care about sports would explain a lot if that were true)
Hell and a half, there's actually a term for hockey "players" who are there to punch people rather than actually being any good at hockey, because that was a thing that happened often enough to justify its own word.

So can Earth ponies, Maud can punch through a boulder like tissue paper, Applejack can pull down a Bugbear 8 times her size, Big Mac can pull a house. Also Twilight is now allies with the dragon lord and the griffins so at this point declaring war on Equestria is suicide unless you wield godlike magic. Even if you did have godlike power, I doubt it would be a match for the power of harmony which exists specifically to curb stomp evil gods.

Actually, I think the griffin kingdom is part Equestria. I mean whenever the pony city states meet there are always griffins there and they use the same currency as Equestria, plus there on the map while Yakyakistan doesn't seem to be. Of course that probably because they did declare war on Equestria and lost. So that means there must be some griffins in the army to, who have been show to be stronger then pagasi and can fly and walk on clouds.

No it dosnt the equestrians were bending over backwards trying to make the prince and the yakastanians feel right at home and offer an olive branch, as is the normal equestrian way, yet the yacks were exstremly ungrateful for all of it. And even now tilight is still showing kindness by telling him exactly how bad a desision declaring war against equestria is.

Β Yeah, the yaks were whiny ,but that's how writers made them for the sake of being funny. they could of thought of a better way to present the lesson. However, it didn't leave any impression on me , so i forgot all about it .Β

Then she stumbles upon Prince Rutherford and an army of yaks, and he says to his assembled yaks "Yaks said would smash if not perfect."
Cue Twilight's WTF expression.
