Ring around the Rosies'pocket fall of posies
Ashes, ashes
We all fall down
For Nursery Rhymes Contest at advanced group where it won a.deviantart.net/avatars/m/a/m… honorable mention
It's thought that this nursery rhyme actually harkens back to the plague, 'the black death'; here's a link that says it was specifically a certain 3 year period: www.scaryplace.com/ringaround.…

I love how you have captured the mood of a nursery rhyme that was a big part of my own childhood while jumping rope. The childrens' voices echo as I look at your image. Well done!

I especially remember my favorite part: "And we all fall down." Of course, then I had no idea what we were singing about!

it always surprises me to learn how dark nursery rhymes really are. i remember when i first found out about them was when my sons were babies. i then never read them to them. but i guess how everything is things change and so did the meaning of the nursery rhymes. we as a society today want them to be cutesy. very nice job on this one. it really scares the bageezzy out of me.

I was going more for a kind of mystical experience with this one, I actually manipulated it for several hours. Guess I wasn't that successful.

I agree with you on the origin and what a great choice of nursery rhyme as it is so different to all the others...imagination is half the task

It's really great the way you portrayed the history of the nursery rhyme, and the story behind it and not just the rhyme itself
Love it
