Description
Ported to OBJ from the model created by Mad Dog Software for the Star Trek: Armada (STA or STA1+STA2) series of video games. Based on the original design created by Rick Sternbach and realized as a physical filming model by Greg Jein for TNG "All Good Things ..." and later reused both as-is (limited) and in modified form (more common) for later Trek media productions, DS9 in particular. Voodieh prototype name comes from the Star Trek Customizable Card Game, while the Negh'Var class name comes from the Star Trek Encylopedia (STE). Preview picture posed in XNALara XPS. There are all kinds of excellent 3D models out there of the Negh'Var and almost all of which are absolutely free to download and use, provided you give credit to the original creator, and all of which can be found with your favorite Internet search engine. As always I'll recommend the one by fellow dA member Dave "First Fleet" Metlesits, which is not only high poly and filming quality but absolutely free to boot. Here's links to both Negh'Var proper and its prototype predecessor Voodieh, both of which I suspect you will want:
Negh'Var (Th. H. "The Brute," "The Hulk, "The Beast," et al -- lit. "solid") was the first full blown space battleship class built and fielded by the Klingon Empire since the B-10 qeyliS betleH ("Sword of Kahless") class of the late TMP and early post TMP eras (ref. SFC video game series). It entered service late in the first full decade of the TNG/DS9/VOY era, although it's believed that the Empire began planning and initial gathering of resources as early as the early part of the last full decade of the post-TMP era. The reason for the seven decade long gap (the entire post-TMP era) was the time that Klingon Empire needed to rebuild its economic infrastructure enough to afford building space battleships again, given the widespread devastation cause by the Praxis Event (STIV) almost at the end of the TMP era. Once they had finally worked their way up into a position to do so once more, then they did it with a vengeance just as they had done back in the late TMP era with qeyliS betleH. The class prototype IKV (*) Voodieh was first spotted undergoing service trials late in the first decade of the TNG/DS9/VOY era, with class ship IKV Negh'Var entering Imperial fleet service shortly thereafter. Once it did Negh'Var was promptly declared the flagship of the Imperial Klingon Fleet, replacing one of the new Vor'Cha class battlecruisers in that role and remaining as the Imperial flagship at least through the end of the 24th century. At least five of the class were known to be in existence by the time of the Dominion War (DS9) and possibly as many as a dozen by the end of the 24th century (VOY "Endgame"). Other Trek multiverse threads have many more (a great many more in some, wink). I have no information on class numbers and service records beyond that date.
Negh'Var was HUGE, even for a TNG/DS9/VOY era starship, and it was literally crawling with multiple mounts of all the best Klingon starship weaponry of the era. More on that later. That said, and unlike its TMP-era predecessor qeyliS betleH, it was both fast and surprisingly maneuverable instead of ponderously slow for its size as one might expect. Technical assistance from Federation engineering advisors is commonly credited for that, although both the Federation and the Klingons have remained silent on the subject. The only place Negh'Var suffered in comparison with the smaller but equally new Vor'Cha was in acceleration and braking down from warp, but that was a given due to its significantly larger mass. In other words, it took Negh'Var a bit to come up to speed as opposed to Vor'Cha, but once it did then trying to stop it was like trying to stop a mountain in motion. Weapons loadout and placement varied somewhat from ship to ship, especially with regards to heavy weaponry, but common to all production model Negh'Vars were no less than twenty (20) era standard Klingon pulse disruptor cannons (or era standard Klingon phasers in at least one documented encounter), one heavy starbase class assault disruptor (bow mount only) and four heavy photon torpedo launchers. Again, that was just the base loadout. Every Negh'Var also had at least two additional heavy weapon types in option mounts, one each port and starboard and depending on the class member in question: TNG/DS9/VOY era nadion pulse generators (VOY "Endgame"), updated TMP era GHRC or FMPA cannon (KA/SFC series video games, look them up), two more assault disruptors (!!!), and so on -- or they might simply be two more banks (containing multiple mounts) of pulse disruptor cannon or era standard heavy photon torpedoes. Again, it depended on which member of the Negh'Var class you were talking about and sometimes from which Trek multiverse thread it came, and there's all kinds of ways to hand-wave away the variances. Pick your favorite and run with it, or delete the two heavy weapon option mounts entirely and go "all stock." It's your choice (or invention) thread of the Trek multiverse, after all (grin-and-wink).
There were at least two different known variants on the standard Negh'Var production model. IKV Voodieh was the class prototype in the Prime timeline and was the only one of its kind in that, although in at least one alternate Trek multiverse thread it became the production model instead of being reworked into Negh'Var proper (TNG "All Good Things ...") "Negh'Var simplified" might be the best way to describe it in short form, with Voodieh having a somewhat simplified appearance due to lack of features that did not become part of the design until Negh'Var was developed, and with a noted "spikes and fins" look given several extra projections that were either deleted or replaced as the final form of Negh'Var took shape with its designers. Just look at the visual links to Dave's CG models and you can see the differences right away between Negh'Var (left) and the Voodieh prototype (right). There's also a second alternate Trek timeline or multiverse thread version of Negh'Var (VOY "Endgame") that appears to be halfway between Voodieh and Negh'Var in terms of design, as it shares elements of both. I don't have a name or model link for this one but I'll add them once I do.
It should also be noted that neither the prototype Voodieh nor class ship Negh'Var were fitted with cloaking devices when they first entered Klingon Imperial Fleet service, although provisions had been made for installing one in both. That was because there was no Klingon cloaking device powerful enough at the time to cloak so massive a ship as Negh'Var (the Romulans had one but they weren't about to share it with the Klingons, nudge-nudge), and it was probably a case of "we've got to have these in service NOW!" (wink). More powerful cloaking devices became available for Negh'Var class production within a few years (I don't know the exact date), with subsequent members of the class having fully functional cloaking devices as standard features and with them being backfitted onto both Voodieh and Negh'Var (and older class members?) at the first available opportunity. Until that happened there was a period of a few years during which these served the Klingons without the benefit of cloaking devices. Much has been has been said and theorized about this, but the simple truth is that it was nothing more than the usual technology catch-up game among different elements of Klingon starship design that had been going on for centuries, ever since they fielded their very first cloak-equipped ship way back when.
Negh'Var led the Klingon first strike against the Cardassian Union during the war between those two powers in the TNG/DS9/VOY era. Multiple members of the class also took part in the Dominion War and were one of the few Klingon starship classes not to lose any members, although more than a few took their fair share of damage battling against their opposite numbers among Dominion and Breen forces. Negh'Var was still a primary starship class in the Klingon Imperial Fleet as of the first decade of the 25th century, but I have no additional info beyond that nor do I know if any of the Greater Houses was ever gifted (or gained possession of) any member of the Negh'Var class either before then or after.
I invite all readers to share additional information on the Klingon Negh'Var class space battleship, so long as you either keep it as generic as possible for the sake of all Trek multiverse threads or note to which thread you are referring if giving specific data (on screen source, video game source, official Franchise publications, novels, fan efforts, etc.). Thank you in advance.
(*) - or IKS depending on how you translate the original Thllngan Hol term Sat tlhlngan Duj, which can be rendered into Terranglo Standard as both Imperial Klingon Vessel (IKV) or Imperial Klingon Ship (IKS). There's a long story behind both forms; talk amongst yourselves ... but in Klingon, of course (of course!)
This is canon, given its multiple appearances in multiple forms on screen in multiple Franchise productions.

ASIDE - Here's a link to the Mandel's entry on Voodieh, if you want to see the differences between the two:
TRIVIA - The original design for the Voodieh prototype as called for in TNG "All Good Things ..." included a small escape craft clamped onto its command boom upperworks and connected to the back of its bridge and boom upperworks, much like Ferengi Galoob daughtership on Ferengi Marauders but considerably smaller. This was deleted for the final design prior to the filming model being made, although as you can see for yourself there's still enough room up there to add your own to either Voodieh or Negh'Var if you want. Also, and in terms of size comparison, Negh'Var is slightly smaller than the Federation late TNG/DS9/VOY era Sovereign class (see separate entry).
