us Georgia boys - There are multiple TOS references to the fact Dr. McCoy was born in the American state of Georgia -- which makes him a fellow "Southern boy" like me (I'm from Arkansas) and accounts both for his Southern accent and certain of his expressions and illustrative references ("I'm just an old country doctor ..."). XD
