Description

Ported to OBJ and given a basic texture job by me from the STL format model created by Tyrel Lohr.  Custom textures originally created by Dave "First Fleet" Metlesits for use with his own custom Trek CG recreation efforts.  Based on the original design created by John Eaves and first seen on screen in the Enterprise (ENT) television series episode "Fallen Hero," and as subsequently reused in other Franchise media in the same or other ways.  Preview picture posed in XNALara XPS.  You can download Mr. Lohr's CG recreation at the link below but be warned!  STL models are made for use with 3D printers and don't include textures, as the end user is expected to hand-paint the printed 3D model.  If you want this in textured form then you will have to do the job yourself, same as I did.  Here's that link:

This was a very common type of standard generic shuttlecraft carried by most large Vulcan starships and also used as planetside long range transports during the 22nd century by Terran Gregorian calendar measure.  They were first spotted in used with the Sh'ran and Suurok class starships but were later seen in use with other Vulcan starships, as well as on the surface of Vulcan itself.  We don't know the class name (as yet, wink!); however, there are some basic things we do know about them other than their looks.  They were considerably larger in comparison to standard Terran types at the time, being two decks high and fitted internally for the carrying of both passengers and cargo.  These could also be fitted for use as small scout or explorer craft and were fully capable of extended operations even at warp, although their range was limited given their size.  These remained in widespread use with the Vulcans for the rest of the pre-TOS era and for the better part of the TOS/TAS era, at which point they began to disappear from official and commercial civilian service due to the widespread availability of newer and better types.  None are known to still be in use in any capacity official or unofficial by the time of the TNG/DS9/VOY era, although there are certain Vulcan small craft types from that later era whose looks evoke the classic lines of this well known and long lived far older one.

This is an excellent CG model given both its small size and the fact that it was intended for 3D printing as a war gaming miniature.  That also means it has a peg hole in the bottom for a small stand, which you will have to deal with in your turn even as I did.  My texture job is basic at best, but I didn't want to go to all the time and trouble of a more thorough job -- especially with the propulsion ring.  It will do for my purposes to illustrate the type, and hopefully it still evokes the on screen original.  I invite you to do better once you get the model and start working with it yourself.

This is canon, given its use on screen in multiple ENT episodes.

Live long and prosper.
