Whats this??!! A REDUX of a REDUX?? DN have you gone mad!?

So I had such an overwhelming response from Athena, both positive and negative (you know who you are ^_^) that I decided to give her another go. I will be truthful in saying that a lot of my visitors know vastly more about the KOF cannon than I do(and some decided to send me to school about Athena's origins ) and thats ok, I never claimed to be a KOF expert, just a KOF fan who likes to concept characters . So in the spirit of fun I decided to do a little experiment and REDUX my own REDUX.

Also to be honest, the original design wasn't jiving to much with me anyway......but I still stand by it! Anyways........

*THIS WILL NOT BE A REGULAR THING, SO DON'T BE EXPECTING IT*

This was a one off experiment because I had some free time between normal REDUX work.

Edits made::

-Complete color overhaul to get away from the school uniform look
- Altered the leg thickness a bit
-Updated some of the skin coloring to soften the face shadows
-Took out the school books
- Changed the design pattern of the stockings
- Updated the Special power color to blue and also added magic glow to her necklace
- Added Rim lighting

Oh and one last note, the previous design will not be posted again, so unless you saved it to your hard drive you are outta luck .

Athena Asamiya from KOF.

Athena is the most recent winner from the KOF REDUX poll, so my visitors voted her over four of her fighting game peers.

This was a tough one to create for me, mainly because Athena has gone through a TON of clothing changes over the years as a lot of you KOF fans know. Pinning what defined Athena was kinda hard for me to do while looking back at all the variants from past games.

I decided on some key elements and got to work, first and foremost was the color scheme, she had to have red and blue as primary colors, it would be silly to have Athena be any other color scheme. Although I focused a little more on white rather than her normal full red, but I feel it still carries enough of the color over to work.

Secondly, from looking at her various outfits and listening to my frequent visitors, it seemed alot of people really dug her school girl out fit. So I decided to play with that a bit, keep the uniform style but add my own personal touches to it to keep her unique and identifiable. So the uniform now has a double belt, a heart design toward the bottom, and a blue under lining that is a bit longer than the main dress. I also added some colorful diamond style socks to make her stand out.

Thirdly, she had to be using her unique power so people can easily identify her, the sparkles were key for that . Her unique special moves stand out very well amongst the rest of the KOF girls so it was an easy decision to add that to the REDUX.

Anyway, that's about it for Athena, hope you like the design .
