King from King of Fighters.I remember when I first played against King way back in the day in the arcade, I totally had no idea she was a girl LOL. That is until my special move blew away her top and all was revealed
.Anyways, whenever I think of King I always think of casinos and card games like poker and black jack, thats where the diamond pattern came from. Other than that she obviously has a dress now, and I still think she could kick just as much butt as in her suit. I also only had her wear 1 stocking to but left her other leg bare, mainly because I thought it would be cool if she favored dominant leg with no extra clothing so she could kick ass even faster.
Still has her top hat of course, it was always a shame she never fought with it on but oh well. And I also gave her a rose tattoo on her arm as sort of a throw back to the rose she throws at her opponent after a win.

King is becoming more of a woman in recent years.Β She's been wearing earrings and make up and I think she spoke about wanting to wear a dress in one of her endings.Β I see this picture as a blend of both worlds.Β She is a fighter but maybe the leader of a gang of some sort so she doesn't really fight until she feels like it.Β She also can have a gang of all women like she's always done in KOF tournaments or something.Β Really like the whole, "Pirate King" feel.Β Hey, Pirate King.Β Yep, that's my name for this design.Β Nice work.

King from the way you had designed her attire and gave her a hat looks like she is a fan of those mafia movies. However usually when women choose to wear stockings do so on both legs and not just on one leg as it looks odd and strange. Ah okay. However that is only going to point out to her foe that she or he should target her dominant leg.
I am also baffled that it would appear that one half of that dress is longer than the other. I admit that as a man I don't know crap about high end fashion. Somehow though you manage to design that dress as a way to combine her femininity but still retain her love of not wanting to appear too girly.
I better be careful with her kicking me with those heels of her.

Not a good design for a Muay Thai/Savate practicioner, but still looks nice. And I still prefer her using a male outfit. Not that I hate your design, mind you, but she just likes to dress like men.

King is still my favorite KoF character even as all the new ones kept coming out. Though I'm sad she hasn't been in any new games recently. Poor King...
I like this outfit, but I still prefer her sexy tuxedo over anything else she wears.

king is my favorite fighter and tho i love this idea you had i cant say i woulda gone that way lol i always wnated to see her embrace thai world and her womanood. I thought maybe wrapping her chestin tape but otherwise bare, i also thought maybe a rose tattoo(yours is perfect!), and instead of being like joe with modern thai shorts instead making her go a little more muay boran with the coolie shorts and mayb rope hemp around her forearms and shins!

with kings back story, it said that she dressed like a man so that they would treat her as one of them. that being siad, i can't get behind the skirt. it dosen't go with what she her self thinks about who she is, as told by her back story

I agree with you, but if you look at most of her story lines, sara595, she really doesn't get far anyway. Most of her endings are too lame, because she ends up geting in trouble with either mai and yuri, or takama or robert. So while I see your point for the dress, snk has to have a better storyline for her.

Somehow, I think the outfit's too feminine for King, and she looks slightly too young, but I still like it LOL.

That's quite a huge departure from the norm of King's clothing, which often was a sort of sophisticated suit that usually wasn't very womanly. Which is very interesting since after AOF she seemed to speak out rather much about how women are great fighters too (and she captained the Women's Team for a long time too). Rather weird that she didn't really keep up something more womanly!
Casinos and the oldfashioned night clubs are nice inspirations for King, she always has this fondness of the higher points of life so this looks rather well, and functional too for kicking asses on a regular basis. She is one of my favorite characters to use too :^D

Yeah it was a challenge coming up with something unique for her. What made her original design fit so well was the simplicity of it, so I decided I might as well go in the opposite direction and see what I get

Amen to coolness. Dunno about the effectiveness of fighting in this outfit (versus her tux), but it certainly looks better. (In way of effectiveness, something like this [link] might be better, but that's just me.)
Overall, the theme looks pretty sweet.
