Malin from King of Fighters.I don't really know to much about Malin, other than she has ties to Athena and Hinako. She has somewhat of a mysterious past and she only started appearing a couple of games ago, so I guess SNK hasn't gotten around to fleshing her story out more.
She does look pretty cool though, her design always reminded me of a techno pirate hehe. She has all sorts of hidden deadly weapons and a passion for beating down the Kyokugenryu Team.
I can't really call her REDUX a complete redesign because it was more of an outfit update than anything else. Her character is so new and her origin and story so small in detail that I decided it would be best to keep her general aesthetic but update the outfit into something with more style.

all i could say when i used her was: fast, jumpy, OMFGHAMMER!
i think you got the 'pirate' look down, since her colors were pretty piraty. She definitely is a newcomer so I can see where the trouble was in redesigning her.
Upon looking at her original design, she seems a bit modest in terms of clothing options - prob something she tossed on and to get the show started right away. I personally thought her bandanna was a big iconic feature to her XD so it seems SO weird to see her w/o it (I also think you made her look older?) but it's still nice seeing her with this almost opposite look.

Is she a pirate? I always thought she was part of some sort of espionage unit for gathering intelligence. Kinda a Kim Possible type of character.
Anyways the main iconic elements I tried to keep were the belt, the tuft of hair in the front, and the striped Adidas style of clothing design. I felt if I added the headband it would be to close to the original 
She is a bit older though like you mentioned, most of my REDUX characters are a tad older than their original counterparts

yeah. last i heard of her info was that she was someone who gathered intelligence, but for whom and why, there is no real official information on her. well at least we know she's keeping her identity hidden well ;]
The hood was a nice touch in replacement of the banana. Hat-items in general are pretty iconic as it is..(billy, terry, etc) XD. I did notice you left her with almost the same color scheme, which discreetly shows the original design. Thought that was another nice touch too, also the fact you made her original legwarmer design into socks/stockings with a reverse color scheme. Very cute idea.
I did notice you made the characters older looking. Malin in particular seems a bit more mature here in terms of personality, and physically her face seemed longer. Her original concept, she looked a lot like a playful sneak which does show from how she fights and talks.

Awesome work! Really liek it how you kept her athletic side and didn't make any real 'loose' clothing. Awesome redux/design update!

I altered it a bit to avoid legal issues, she has a similar logo on her official SNK design, but I am not sure what it looks like in full.
