Description
A friend requested an evil version of a Disney princess for a Facebook page. I've never really liked Disney much, though I have to admit I liked a few older movies such as The Little Mermaid. Since i love love love merfolk Ariel has to be my favourite 'disney princess' if I had to choose, though I have to say I don't like how Disney portrayed the idea of mermaids in the movie. Flounder is fuckin adorable though. Pain in the ass to draw however.ANyway, heres a twisted ..ish Ariel and Flounder <3 hope you guys liek

What was it about the Disney mermaids that you didn’t like exactly?

I've never been a fan of the way it sugar coated them. I prefer the folklore where mermaids are beastly, where they look more like sea creatures and fish, where they're actually feared by sailors despite being hauntingly beautiful.
Disney sugar coats and turns a lot of things like mermaids into this sweet, pink sparkly fever dream. The mermaids in that film just look and act way too human. Ariel is also a terrible character to me personally. Flat, 2D and really...really stupid.
BUT that's all my personal view on things. Take it with a grain of salt and if you don't agree then kudos to you, its just how I see things.

Haha, much edge, much spoopy.
What's funny is that my name is Ariel but I love fish, so does that make me a cannibal?!

I love this so much!! (I love dark twisted things)
I grew up watching disney and I still watch the older ones (not really a big fan of the new ones) but I hate how much they changed 'The Little Mermaid'. "Ariel" isn't even a ginger, she's a blonde. Disney changed it because they thought the blonde would look disgusting with the blues and greens used in the ocean. Although "Ariel" saves the prince, the Sea Witch sells her a potion that turns her human in exchange for her voice and "Ariel" is trying to get the prince to kiss her the rest is pretty much disney putting stuff together that somewhat makes sense. "Ariel" is actually trying to get a kiss so she can get a soul so she can go to heaven because she doesn't want to be turned into sea foam, which is what happens to mermaids when they die. The prince only likes her because she can dance (which causes her pain, its a side effect of the Sea Witch's spell; its like she is always walking on needles) and is attractive. He tells her that he is going to marry a princess from a neighboring kingdom. Of course this make "Ariel" sad and she waits to be turned into sea foam at dawn (which the Sea Witch told her would happen if she didn't get a kiss in a specific amount of time). But before dawn, her sisters bring her a knife that the Sea Witch has given them in exchange for their long hair. "Ariel" has to let the princes blood drip on her feet and she will be able to live out the rest of her life as a mermaid, but she cant do it. When dawn arrives, she feels the sun and isn't turned into sea foam but instead the daughter of air. The other daughters tell her she has become like them because she strove with all her heart to obtain an immortal soul. She will earn her own soul by doing good deeds and she will eventually go to heaven.
Sorry about that, just wanted to import the public....
