it seems to work well enough.. I guess it helps to have a real life reference to get the feel of stuff
the facial features tend to be a little inconsistent sometimes in the manga which is what I referenced learning to draw the characters... so it's weird, you kinda have to even it out in your mind and pinpoint exactly what it is that makes that character specific even if it is'nt always drawn clearly (sometimes they all look a bit similar in profile... at least the ones with finer features)

yep, and the only thing that makes them unique is the hair, facial expressions (one could easily spot Helen right away.) and the symbols.
I don't reference the manga too much because I'm too lazy to print out or look at the computer while drawing. much of it was just in my memory. remembering only the trademark hair, eyes and expression. that's why all you see are busts or naked women.. I can't memorize the armor that much... yeah..

I have to reference for the armor, except I can remember the shoulder thingys pretty much.
thats why I prefer the manga they are more differentiated... the anime makes most of them look too similar in the eyes :/ I really like these that you did though! it catches their characters.
