I am probably biased, because the girl's hair is like mine, but I really really like this picture. Great work!

Really, really beautiful. The colors you've chosen here are breathtaking, so vivid, so rich and varied, so many shades of the sepia, all in this one work. Thank you for explaining what ecoline is; I had no idea. Really, there just is no digital substitute for watercolor-type things. The way the edges grab the color, the way the layers of hair are enhanced by the layers before....just so lovely.
You did a great job with this, too, making the hair seem backlit by the sun. Her eyes are so tender, almost luminous. Did you do this with no sketch of any kind? I don't see any pencil marks....just so well done and beautiful.

Thank you for your devious thoughts on 'Rusty' only-zuul. I usually work the colours over a clean penciled outline (the product of a very messy sketch), and although most of the times the outcome is satisfying, the spontaneity of the original sketch is usually lost.
With 'Rusty" I tried to use my brush (in this case a size 2) the same way I'd use a pen, my only concern being the amount of water going on the paper and to wait for the drawing to dry before applying a new layer of colour. The outcome was sloppier than usual but a lot of fun and under 10 minutes --which is lightspeed concerning my normal labour hours.
P.S. If you'd ever like to traditionally add color to a b&w photograph, ecolines are a great way to do it. I don't know if there are any other brands out there, but 'Talens' has a large variety of colours available (which you can also mix and match thus creating your own tones and shades).

This is pretty. The lines and the colors you used give it a very 'soft' feel. I like it.

Sorry for bringing up memories Elchicotriste. It's ecoline, a liquid mixture of watercolour and ink. For this one I used either one or two shades of sepia.
