Description
A Picture I made of a version of Princess Zelda for my Legend of Zelda Pathfinder campaign that I am playing with a friend. In this campaign, the Royal Family has the surname Hylia, same as the goddess the princess embodies. In this setting, Zelda is both a Cleric and a Monk, using Gestalt class rules adapted from Dungeons and Dragons. As a Cleric, she is able to channel the powers of the Goddesses, particularly Nayru's, and cast all manner of divine magic and channel divine energy. As a Monk, she is a swift and agile martial artist, able to inflict powerful blows with her firsts or staff. The Monk side of her character is integrated from her Sheik persona, but without an alternate disguise to go with it. It also helps that Wisdom is essential to both classes in Pathfinder, which Zelda embodies through her part of the Triforce.
When Hyrule castle is invaded by dark forces, Zelda is horrified to see her staff and guards turn on her. Only a single knight, Erin Ventus, seems unaffected by the control, and so helps the Princess escape the castle. She grabs a makeshift outfit that she thinks won't slow her down in the catacombs she needs to escape through, and escapes to Castle Town, where she meets up with the heroes Link and Saria, and they join forces to deal with the dark forces controlling the Castle.
I drew Zelda here in her adventuring outfit and her swimsuit. Her outfit was put together with a bunch of clothes she had on hand that wouldn't slow down her movement too much, wearing only a vest instead of a proper shirt. Later on she decided to stick with that style, as it was so unlike what a Princess should wear no one would suspect she was a princess upon looking at her, in spite of the presence of the royal crest on her skirt. Her Swimsuit serves similarly to the Zora's Tunic or Zora's flippers, that allow her to breath and swim underwater, made by a mage with a sense of humour.
I made this picture from Dolls I found here [link] by the artist Lilly and it is used with permission.
