Description This is a pic I made of a Demon Prince from the Dungeons and Dragons game that I decided to draw. This is Pazuzu, Prince of the Lower Aerial Kingdoms, one of the many Demon Lords of the Abyss. Pazuzu is a 4 winged humanoid with talons and a hooked beak for a mouth. He wields a great sword that was supposedly carved from the feather of a great Anzu demon, a great 4 winged bird-panther. Pazuzu can spit forth posionous acid from his mouth, or swarms of locust, and he is surrounded by an aura that prevents evil flying creatures from harming him. Pazuzu is an Obyreth, a type of ancient demon from before the existance of mortals, so horrible, just looking at one can cause madness. When the Tanar'ri, newer demons that evolved from the dead souls of evil mortals, came to the Abyss and took over, rather then be banished or destroyed like the rest of his Obyrith kin, Pazuzu instead joined the Tanar'ri, and evolved into a less horrid form that is more pleasing to the eyes. As such, Pazuzu can summon forth Tanar'ri to aid him in combat, as well as summoning other avian creatures like harpys or rocs.
Pazuzu rules over the skies of the Abyss, and lets other Demon Lords rule the ground. Both Pazuzu and the other Demons seem content with this arangment, and they have not yet tried to enroach on each others territory. Pazuzu instead seems interested in corrupting mortals. By offering his name to mortals, those mortals can summon Pazuzu in times of crisis or need, with which the Demon lord grants them favors in exchange for eventual devotion. Eventually, such mortals eventually joint cults devoted to serving his demoic ways.
Pazuzu is of paticular note of the demon lords of D&D. Like other Demon Lords, Pazuzu is named after a real world Demon, a Mesopotanian demon of Wind, Posion and Disease. Appearing as a humanoid with 4 wings, talons for hands, and the head of a cat, Pazuzu was heald responsible for causing disease and poison, but could aslo be appeased for protection against such poison and disease. But what sets Pazuzu appart is that he was the name of the Demon given in the movie, "the Exorsist".
I made another monster with the same name earlier in my gallery, a demon bird Kaiju as seen that is set to appear in my "Godzilla vs. The Devil" story.
