Description Well, even though Curlyhaired Kaiju's Beasts os Skull Island is over with, My creative juices are still flowing like a river. Here are a few more creatures I made that dweel upon the home of King Kong. The River serpent is partially inspiered by a pic done by Curlyhaired Kaiju and I drew my own version with his primission.
I've decided to post the descriptions in a tone that fits in with the King Kong fanfiction I have developed.

From the Journal of Lorna Jenkins
Oh how I wish I could share all my findings with the world, share the wonderous secrests I have discovered on this natural wonder of an island. But I have sworn an oath of secrecy to keep the existance of Skull Island a secret, and thus, I shall, at least for the time being. But I am writing down what I know here in this journal so as to have something to tell, perhaps as something to share with my Great Grandchildren and future genrations of the Jenkins family.
So much was learned during the lengthy trips to Skull Island after its descovery by my colleges and I between our first expidition in 1934 to the island's 'Sinking" in 1943, but that was only a microscopic fraction of what could have been learned on the island. There are books doccumented on all the wonderous life forms of Skull Island published by those who have seen Skull Island, and in it you will find a good deal of info on the fauna of Skull Island. But that is just a fraction of what could have been learned. I could write anthologys on what I have learned on the hunting beahavior of the Venatosaurs or the mating rituals of the Vastatosaurus Rex, but instead, I will write here the creatures not known to the Outside world, the fauna not yet discovered in the time between when Skull Island was discovered and when it supposedly sunk into the ocean.

Pteravenatus Maximus
Large Hunting Wing
The Pteravenatus is one of the last surviving pterasaurs of Skull Island, great flying reptiles from the age of the Dinosaurs that survive only in limited numbers here on Skull Island. Out numbered by the Islands exotic bird's, flying Rodents and other flying reptiles, the Pterasaurs have been pushed twoards extinction, and thier numbers are dwindling. Yet despite their dwindeling numbers, I have come to know Pteravenatus very well. I have studied one paticular Pteravenatus up close and personally, a large female named "Sora", who is a companion of Lua, my Shaman friend on the Island. Through Lua's Shamanic Bond, Lua and other humans are able to get close enough to Sora to touch. But the beast is hardly tamed, and retains many of its wild instincts.
Pteravenatus is a rather large Pterasaur, nearly 10 feet from the tip of its beak to the end of its claws while in flight and with a nearly 15 foot Wingspan. Its long tail makes it even longer.
The Pteravenatus resembles a Pteranodon from the Late Cretacious in size and apperance, even displaying a similar head crest, but the creature is only distantly related. Rather then a Pteradactlyid like a Pteranodon, the Pteravenatus is a Ramphryncid, as evedent by its long tail and tooth filled mouth. 65 million years of evolution has allowed Pteraventus to increase its size dramatically, and it is perhaps this great size why Pteravenatus is on of the last survivng Pterasaurs.
Males are smaller then Females by about 30%, but they are brightly colored to attract mates, with blue, orange, red, gray and yellow markings on a black body, while the females are dull brown. Males also have a rooster like waddle below thier necks.
The creatures feed primarily on fish taken from the rivers and ocean, but occasionally take terrestreal prey such as lizards, insects, birds, and even small dinosaurs.

Cerahydrus Verdens
Green Horned Serpent
The Great Horned Python of Skull Island is perhaps on of the largest of all snakes, rivaling the Anaconda and Reticulated Python in size. The Horned Serpents have grown to incredible size due to thier issolation on Skull Island, growing to nearly 32 feet or more in length. The horn like growth about the snakes face is similar in apperance to horned vipers of asia, but the snake is non-venomous. The large serpent hides among the small underbrush of the island to strike upon unsuspecting prey. Lashing with it jaws, the creature quickly coils its body arround its prey once it has established a hold with its mouth. The creature quicky constricts the coils of its body with its mighty mussles, squeezing the life out of its prey through suffication. Birds, lizards, large insects, and even small to medium sized dinosaurus make up the diet of the Horned Python. Sinse in eats its prety whole, the Python can only eat what it can swallow, though its dislocating jaws allow it to accomidate much larger prey then the size of its head would first appear. But this does not stop the creature from attacking much larger foes anyway. Notoriously agressive, the Snake attacks anything it can get its coils arround that enters its territory, even things it could not hope to swallow it. I myself have once witnessed a Horned Python choke to death a sub-adult Vastatosaurus that got to close to the territory of a Horned Python. Being such a dangerous creature, I dare not get too much closer to the creature to try and learn more.

Hydrusaurus Fluvinus
River Snake Lizard
The myterious Hydrusaurus, or River serpent, is quite the unusal creture. A Large Monitor lizard of some sort, the creature seems to be a missing link between the lizards, and both snakes and the prehistoric Mossasaurs, aquatic reptiles also desended from Monitor Lizards. The creature has traits from both Monitor Lizards, Snakes and Mossasuars, and is most likly the decendant of an evolutionary forefather of all 3. The creature seems to have evolved traits from all 3 creatures, posessing a head much like that of Monitor lizards with sharp needle like teeth for grasping on prey, a long, flexible body like a snake, and small, vestigial, flipper like legs. The creature is of an immense size, nearly 45 feet long, though it supports most of that bulk in the water. It swims in the water by undulating its body and paddle-like tail like an eel, keeping its feet against it side. The River serpent uses it feet instead for help traveling on land, traveling slowly along the jungle floor, or even up the walls of sea-side caves.
The creatures immense size is greater then that of even the Horned Python, but the creature is much less dangerous, instead picking on small fish and aquatic reptiles. Most of the time these creatures are quite harmless to anything but its prety, but it can get agressive during breeding season. Our young Kong once ran afoul of one of these creatures by the river one day, perhaps getting too close to a nest or something, and before Kong knew it, he was dragged underwater and wrapped in the coils of the large beast. Kong quickly stood up from the water, but was still entangeled by its coils. If not for the fact that Kong still had one hand free, we might of lost our Great Protector once again. Kong used his free hand to grab the tail of the beast, forcing it to unwrap him as he pulled it away and then flung the snake-lizard away from him. the serpent survived, but it learned not to pick on Kong ever again, just as Kong learned to be catious arround the water's edge from then on.

Well, I have told you all I could for today. But rest assured, I have so many more secrets of Skull Island that I must share with you all.
There you go, hope that wasn't too long to read.

Thank you glad you like the design, but yeah, it is an older depiction of what some thought Pteranodon or a Pterodactyl looked like. I do realize now I kind of screwed up the name, Pteravenator Maximus should be a more literal translation of the name " Large Winged Hunter". Thanks for the Fav too.

Oh, thank you. I just used my knowledge of Dinosaur names and meanings, coupled with what is in World of Kong to come up with names for these beasts.
