Description
Another of my 100 theme challenges, this one is #42, Standing Still. Both symbolic and literal, here we have a scene from the Grasslands of Skull Island. A Vastatosaurus Rex and a Skull Island Mammoth face off in the grass lands, a challenge of preditor and prey, while a Lycaesaurus runs away from the scene.
The literal is that the Skull Island Mammoth is standing still, standing its ground against the predator that it faces.
The more figurative is the fact that Skull Island is standing still largely on an evolutionary front. A Relic of the past world, life on Skull Island has remained virtually unchanged for the past 65 million years, having animals like Dinosaurs and even animals much older then that, like Mammal-like reptile like Lycaesaurus that have died out everywhere else in the world long, long ago. Even with the arrival of humans, Skull Island still has surviving members of many old species like Mammoths and Cave Bears.

Cool picture. A mammoth fighting a dinosaur. I think I have seen this in Prehistoric park. I wonder who in this primal fight.

Oh yeah, I remember that episode, Titanosaurs broke the fences, and the male T. Rex got into the Elephant pen with the Woolly Mammoth. The Mammoth protected an elephant calf from the T. Rex, and gained a place in the Elephant Heard.
But thank you, glad you like it. As to who would win the fight, I am not sure. The Vastatosaurus are bigger and stronger then a Tyrannosaurus, but at the same time, the Skull Island Mammoths are bigger then Woolly Mammoths, being descended from Steppe Mammoths, which where bigger then Woolly Mammoths. But with it's great bulk, and long tusks, I would give the edge to the Mammoth.
Oh and thank you for the Fav as well.

Hmm, yes, that's true, I probably would not have thought up the Skull Island Mammoth if you hadn't asked me to, but what's your point? Are you just pointing it out?
