Incredible! Β My question: how does this compare to Frederick Slijkerman's algorithms for UF? Β Sorry if I seem naive! Is it much faster?
i'm curious.

Are those the standard in ultra fractal? I have tried ultra fractal once and the mandelbrot set rendering was really slow compared to fractal extreme, let alone the programs using perturbation at the moment.

I think it depends on your computer's processor, but it must be going really deep on a VERY large image to take 90 hours in UF!

The magnification and coordinates of this render are public, so you can test how long the algorithm in ultra fractal needs to render this. If it's less than 90 hours on this resolution, I would be interested to learn more about the algorithm!

Nice job! Love some of your zoom techniques. I've got to branch out more from this "X" stuff I've been doing. How are you loading custom palettes in Mandel Machine? I'm only getting three to choose from in the latest version.

And thanks for investigating the zoom path. That's why I've been adding those coordinates so often. I always hope someone else continues with my ideas to make more stuff, like how I originally began by investigating your X-figures. My favorite letter to work with is the letter S, as you may have noticed.

Thanks! You can load images in mandel machine to extract colors from to form a gradient. A workaround to load your own gradients is to convert them to an image and them extract the colors from that image.

Very nice - what are the glitches, or where are they? Β What is a glitch, anyway? Β

You would recognize them if you were used to working with kalles fraktaler, but I did my best to make them almost unnoticeable. Some spots are egally the same color while they should not be. There are a few white pixels spread throughout the image as well.

Well, you succeeded - it looks great. Β I see over at FF that you have started using Mandel Machine (I think that's what it's called) - happy with it?

It has all the modern techniques for efficiency that exist at the moment and it is really, really fast, even compared to kalles fraktaler. The gradient editor is not finished yet, but it looks very promising and the possibilities are already enough to make awesome renders. When the program has features to solve glitches (which will often occur with the perturbation algorithm) I will be able to do more renders like this, which I would never have been able to with fractal extreme.

So... It have glitches???

DinkydauSet In reply to SeryZone [2014-02-12 18:07:25 +0000 UTC]

The glitches will be solvable in later versions of the program, but I can't wait that long. So instead I disguise them as intentional elements in the render.

I was test mandel machine moments ago... set my standart parameters at 100,000,000 iterations, 97 zooms... It don't make anymore... I render this video in Fractal eXtreme, because it have only 2 Julia and 100,000,000 iterations. Now I want end my last videos in Fractal eXtreme... But... Why I do it? I renders for months for nothing! Your videos and images... get comentaars... And likes, and Β my get nothing... What can I do???

Yeah, I used to think similarly. I've been on this site since 2008, on youtube since 2008 as well with fractal videos. I have promoted myself a lot on every forum I was on (games, fireworks, computers etc.) and also on fractalforums where I'm active. Videos and images will automatically be viewed when posted there. I have a lot of subscriptions on youtube and here, so I can't possibly view all the new videos and art that I receive, but I will have a look at your channel to see what's new.
