Description Hope this is somewhat helpful, i guess it is more of a walk through than a tutorial, but at least i tried hahahha. Making this, i couldn't help think about how much more efficient livestream sessions are, since i will be doing commission art instead of comic work for a while i might be able to do some demos there.

let me know if you have any questions and i'll do my best to answer~

Holy shit Mr badass, THANKS. My own work has been feeling stale lately and its been my coloring.... specifically shading and making the rich vibrant colors we both like to use work better. So thank you, your tutorial has made alot of the style make more sense to me. Its not as complicated as i try to do it... NOw if only my game system would follow suit.

Thnx for the tutorial Din it helped me alot and the PSD helped me even more. I have one question for you how did you make the chainmail?? I agree with Vix-The-Winter it felt like a friend explained it to me and that way it was much easier to understand the tutorial. Keep up the good work and the tutorials they are great. (ps: sorry if my english sucks lol)

your english is great, and thank you for the feedback on the tutorial and psd, i am glad they were helpful to you (=
to make chain mail, i made a custom bush that is the shape of a C (i originally made it to make fish scales) but i rotate it to look more like this U, then just do lots of brush strokes in a downward motion, slightly overlapping. idk if that makes sense, but if you experiment with a brush like that, you'll get it.
cheers!

Definitively gonna try some of those steps in my process, especially about the skin part (mine always look too dull)

Well I have a long ways to go before I can begin to draw that good of... well just about anything lol But I have a question, how did you set your pressure sensitivity settings? (I have MangaStudio5) And how do you get your lines that clean? Mine still look jittery on a finished product (Jusr warning you, totally new to drawing tablet, I have only had mine for like two weeks)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dinmoney In reply to j2waldeck [2014-04-23 04:53:47 +0000 UTC]

for lines i use basic round brushes with opacity and size set to pen pressure, but i am not sure about manga studio. i strongly recommend picking up photoshop if you are considering art as a career, it is industry standard. see if you can get it cheap through your school or something. as for clean lines, it mainly comes down to developing confidence in your strokes, but if you are using a small tablet, it can make the lines a bit shaky since it is magnifying all the movements.

everyone starts off a little shaking moving to digital, so dont be discouraged, just keep practicing. i started by doing graffiti art too hahaha
cheers!

j2waldeck In reply to dinmoney [2014-04-23 05:00:46 +0000 UTC]

Completely self taught so the getting Photoshop cheap is going to be a toughy lol I definitely need to work on my clean lines though, I rarely draw any shape in one fluid motion. I have a 10x6 so size isnt too much of an issue, just a different style of drawing compared to my habits with paper. Thanks for your advice!

Wow man, this is amazing (especially the anime and blush effects). Seeing this made me appreciate your work more. Curious (though I have an idea) what would a non-blood flowing character (i.e. ghost, spirit, astral body, etc) have to replace the plasma effect? I have allot of those types of characters.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dinmoney In reply to Tilebus7 [2014-04-23 04:11:42 +0000 UTC]

good question! those characters may not have flowing red blood now, but that doesnt mean that they didnt used too. its probably cold blue purples and maybe even a little green. the main lesson to learn is that skin is comprised of more than just one colour, so don't be afraid to experiment (=

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tilebus7 In reply to dinmoney [2014-04-23 04:34:03 +0000 UTC]

Good answer. Didn't think about it that way, I was only thinking of beings who never had (or didn't get) a physical body but that helps too (especially for the undead ones).
Well, they say the spirit is in the blood so I can see how it can go hand and hand with soul-like bodies.

I'm looking forward to seeing your storyline unfold (been reading in Tapastic).
I see Sam Gen on Adult Swim someday (probably edited tho).
