cooolll : DDD the whole lightsource thing helped, about the top receiving more light than the bottom!

'constantly flip object back and forth to reveal errors' I can't even begin to say how much this has helped me improve since I began doing it like 6 months ago or so @_@ it just provides such a new perspective on the picture, and you're like wow... I totally messed up here and there and etc. etc. and then you go and fix it and everything is hunky dory

dinmoney In reply to fqtt [2009-07-14 16:35:35 +0000 UTC]

haha yea its probably more of a lighting tutorial than typical character tutorial, but whatevers, as long as someone learns something it is not a waste
thanks for the feedback fqtt! and glad it was useful to you (=

fqtt In reply to dinmoney [2009-07-15 00:33:19 +0000 UTC]

Just when I saw tite my first though was "I sense smth usefull"

And indeed, I will use it alot... Once I'll finally start do things completly in PS. ^^"

dinmoney In reply to Imrooniel [2009-07-14 16:31:18 +0000 UTC]

light physics applies to traditional drawing/ painting as well, just takes longer cause there are no shortcuts
but thanks for the feedback! glad this tutorial was useful (=

Imrooniel In reply to dinmoney [2009-07-14 22:45:27 +0000 UTC]

Well ofc it applies to traditional media as well, but for ME its easier to do this all shading/light placing thing wit coloured pencils, than in PS... To be honest, by every attempt to do anything digital is one big fail

That's why your tutorial is so usefull - I can actually SEE how it supposed to look :>
