Description
Bringing us up to the halfway mark is 's Bartos, a ravenous beast that absorbs mana by eating everything around it. This was a pretty easy one for me to pull off ad it was a lot of fun mixing reptilian and amphibian traits to give him his signature look. He looks a lot less angry than he did originally, but I thought the "determined glutton" look suited him well and makes for a nice contrast to Scython's more serious, predatory demeanor.Go check out 'Kids entry and read more about him here: a3dkid.deviantart.com/art/Cont…

Looking from this angle, he looks far more original and better. He seems to carry a Showa Gamera enemy vibe.

That is an awesome rendition man! He looka almost exactly as how I imagined him to look like with his mouth closed, and the pattern for the top of his head is excellent. Your also managed to do an excellent job on his hump.
I even like certain details in your design more than in mine! The design for the eye (and thus giving him a more "hungry" look) and how his tongue sticks out fits his personality better than the "angry" look that I did. I also love, love how you did the saggyness of his pleats and underbelly. You made them look less "hard" than my original depiction!
Real hoping to see how the rest of the winners are done in your style!

Awesome take on a pretty cool monster, DH. I love this guy, have since I first saw the bugger. The way you have the tongue hanging out, love it.

Another nice adaption, we get to see a bit more character now that his mouth is closed . He looks less grumpy more affably hungry. Which in context and in conjunction with those pinpoint eyes is pretty horror inducing.

For me, the skin texture looks mostly scale... Would Bartos here have a moist amphibian underbelly and scaly/armored

That's a very good guess, but nope! As much as he looks like one, Bartos isn't actually an amphibian according to his creator, a3dkid. He describes him as a reptile, so the scaly skin texture here was deliberate. The underbelly is definitely softer and saggier, kind of like a hellbender's skin, but it's still watertight and probably covered in very fine scales.
