Personality/Behavior: Dominated by his insatiable appetite and penchant for destruction, the only word that can reasonably describe Tortarasque is "crazy." This overgrown box turtle likes little better than to blow shit up, even when there's no one else around to call him out for it. Buildings in particular fascinate him, and he gravitates towards cities not because he has a grudge against humanity (he simply eats fleeing bystanders like ants when he gets the chance), but rather because he is fascinated by the way the buildings burn. Besides, dry steel and concrete agree with him more than organic matter that has a higher water content, though he isn't afraid to take bites out of anyone who tries to keep him from indulging in his maniacal ways.

Powers/Weapons:
- Bite: The massive jaws have both teeth and a beak, and can bite through armor and kaiju hide easily to tear off large chunks of flesh.
- Tail Slam: Equally as deadly as the jaws is his powerful tail, which can snap an unwary opponent's leg with one swipe. It's also tipped with a deadly spiked mace for extra impact.
- Extendable Spine: Both the Bite and the Tail Slam are augmented by the fact that the tail and neck can extend up to twice their normal length, and also compress to the point that the club and head can actually touch the shell. Tortarasque can compress his spine, and then spring out both head and tail with devastating force.
- The Spiny: Tortarasque's shell is covered in huge, sharp spikes, making close combat with him very dangerous. He has learned to take advantage of this, tucking his legs into his shell as he dashes forth and sliding at speed. Anything that doesn't get out of the way will be viciously impaled.
* Playing With Fire: This massive turtle can control fire, using the special energy core hidden within his shell. Streams, walls, balls, vortexes, and trailing whip-tendrils of heat are some of the more commonly seen moves in his repertoire, and can be either fired from the mouth, sprayed from the tip of the tail, or simply summoned from thin air.
* Convection Schmonvection: Needless to say for a creature that controls fire, he is resistant to extreme heat, and even his scaly skin will not burn.
* Extreme Omnivore: To fuel his bulk and flame organ, Tortarasque will consume anything, from meat and plants to minerals and even steel. His digestive processes are powerful enough to turn strong metal to molten slag within several hours at the maximum.
* Action Bomb: The most powerful attack Tortarasque has to offer is an explosive blast that offers both combustion and concussion, char-broiling and knocking back opponents and objects over a considerable distance. It comes out of his shell, which opens up like a flower just before the flame organ combusts all fuel remaining within at once. He can't attack with fire after the explosion, so he must rely on melee moves until he gets to eat something.

Weaknesses:
- Attack Its Weak Point: Amazingly, it's actually possible to stop the exploding attack in its tracks. The key concept behind this strategy is timing; a fire-based attack has to hit just after the shell opens and just before the flame organ lights up - a window of only a few seconds marked by an infamous hiss of belly gas. If the flame organ inside can be damaged, he won't be able to use his fire attacks even after he's eaten.
- Thin-Skinned: Though fireproof, Tortarasque's skin can still be damaged by claws and teeth. The fact that his exposed legs cannot retract into the shell does not help.

Fighting Style: Tortarasque is a pyromaniac and a Mad Bomber, plain and simple. Though he isn't afraid to take foes on physically, he uses his fire attacks first and foremost for maximum damage. Anything that comes within a radius of a mile risks being incinerated, crushed, impaled, and/or eaten... and often, all at the same time. Destruction is Tortarasque's nature, and those who don't agree with this policy can go suffer third-degree burns in Hell... literally.

Origin: This giant turtle beast was created by the same company that created Quint. In light of the various kaiju emerging throughout the world, it was agreed that an anti-kaiju creation was in order. Mechas were liable to malfunction, but a biological creation, like Quint, would in theory be easier to work with since it could maintain itself and be trained without the difficulty of complex programming. Authorities and scientists alike believed that it would be therefore easier and safer to deal with a manmade beast kaiju. Furthermore, the company in question used a common box turtle as a base organism, because they thought that the creature would be naturally docile and easy to work with even as a kaiju.
Useless to say, they were wrong... Horribly, horribly wrong.
The end result of the various experiments that they tried was not, in fact, a placid, defensive beast. Instead, drastically altered by the various mutations they tried to give it, the monster turned out to be even MORE dangerous than Quint. That fact was proven very quickly as the entire lab and everyone inside it went up in white-hot flames, from which emerged a psychotic new monster that immediately cut a massive burning swath through its home city before heading off to who knows where, presumably looking for other things to burn, setting everything in its way on fire while cackling with demonic delight. And so, the era of Tortarasque, the Pyro Turtle's reign of terror, began...

For ~Monsturra-Jake 's contest. After seeing the different entries I noticed there weren't any psychopaths around, so I thought I'd oblige. I know some of you will probably be a bit confused as to why I made a giant exploding turtle, so I figured for this post I'd bring the major inspiration behind this concept: *reaches into Hammerspace and holds up...* The Mine Turtle from asdfmovie5.

[Mine Turtle:] Hello! *flips over out of my hands and onto the floor and blows up*

*Blinks, shake ashes off face* ...Yeah. That's what it does.
Anyway, I figured that since turtles blowing up haven't been used yet for kaiju, it would be fun to see what something like that would look like. For this guy I combined aspects of Bowser and the Spiny from Mario, Kamoebas, a bit of Gamera, ankylosaurs, and the mythical tarasque. Notice that this is also the first time I tried a hand at an official bio for my monsters in a while, and as you can see I've been practicing and warming up for what's to come for the official KK bios. So yeah, Jake, I hope you enjoy this and I'll certainly keep my talons crossed that it wins.
