Debut - Kinzo

A new military group has been established specifically to deal with giant monsters: the Anti-Dinosaur Force. They start by unveiling their latest asset: Kinzokutaiga. Unlike the Sun Lions, it is entirely robotic. It roars out as it completes its current test. Meanwhile, The Hastings are digging up a fossil

Tanana: How does he know its a bone?
Lilian: Technically its all rock, but it’s the shape of the rock and looking closely and you got a bone of a long extinct animal.
Tanana: How does it become stone?
Alan: The calcium in the bones is replaced during fossilization. You can feel the difference too.

Alan has Tanana feel the fossil.

Alan: Smooth, *as he has her tell the rock* rough.

She laughs.

Dr. Powell: So what you find? Or just teaching your girlfriend about fossils?
Alan: It looks like a Tyrannogigas, or a relative.
Dr. Powell: I see. Well there is a new group that handles the superspecies. They started by unveiling a robot tiger they call Kinzokutaiga. It's not a cyborg, at least.
Alan: Unlike the Sun Lions? Who built the thing anyway?
Dr. Powell: Well China did. Professor Wong funded the project.
Lilian: All to combat superspecies?
Dr. Powell: Quite possibly. Most of the Senate has agreed to use advanced weapons mainly to subdue or drive out. However, they will kill a superspecies in an emergency situation.

Meanwhile in Shangai, Kinzokutaiga has been unveiled to the public.

Professor Wong: I present the Metal Tiger, Kinzokutaiga, able to scale the Himalayas and capable of fighting even the toughest of superspecies. And unlike the decommissioned Sun Lions, which were cybernetic and run on artificial intelligence, Kinzokutaiga is entirely robotic, running on virtual reality. Observe.

Kinzokutaiga activates, and it looks around.

Wong: It scans the environment around it within a 200 mile radius, then it goes from there. Once the hunt begins, he'll stun his opponent or if needed, kill his enemy. We have run several tests, and we are confident in its success.

Kinzo picks up something approaching Shanghai. It’s Tyrannogigas, who has been on the prowl.

Wong: Well, might as well show you what Kinzo is capable of.

Kinzokutaiga goes out to fight Tyrannogigas, Tyrannogigas roars at Kinzo, who roars back. Kinzo pounces. Tyrannogigas lunges as well, although the tiger outsmarts him, Tyrannogigas has the advantage of size and power, but Kinzo is faster and more agile. Kinzo fires stun missiles Tyranno shakes them off due to his size Tyrannogigas roars at Kinzo, who fires a tranquilizer dart into his mouth. Tyrannogigas starts to gag and foam in the mouth. Then passes out. He is taken to a specialized facility.

The Hastings get word of the successful hunt, and they arrive in the lab in China, seeing the comatose Tyrannogigas.

Alan: The hell happened to him?
Lilian: It looks like their robot tiger was a success.
Alan: Put Tyrannogigas in a coma, that's what it did.
Lilian: Well at least he's alive.
Alan: So what will you guys do with him?
Wong: Study, of course. Kinzokutaiga's hunt was a non-lethal operation.
Alan: And what if a hunt goes wrong?
Wong: We won't kill a superspecies unless it's an emergency.
Alan: Ok. After your studies, we recommend it be brought to Monsterland.
Wong: As you wish.

The siblings return to Monsterland. Unknown to them, the Soviet party has snuck into Monsterland

Dr. Yuri: So this is where they’re being kept. Find Stygimorah. He is the most interesting species to date.

Stygi is drinking at the lake, although the female is resting in the shade. He then tries to approach him, but she drives him off. It's revealed she has laid an egg, and hasn't left the nest. The Soviets find the egg.

Dr. Yuri: So our little friend has a family. Change of plans; get the egg. We will raise the baby to be our weapon.

They go in, although the mother takes notice and she attacks viciously.

Alan: What in the world?

He looks in the security camera footage.

Alan: It's those bastards again!

He goes to confront them but Dr. Yuri shoots him before he can react. Alan falls to the ground.

Dr. Yuri: Alan Hastings... you interfered for the last time. Now you'll pay with your life.

He tries to pull the trigger but something breaks his arm, causing him to yell out in pain. It’s Lilian, using her psychic powers.

Lilian: Stay away from him.
Dr. Yuri: Kill that bitch!

The soldiers prepare to shoot Lilian, but she uses her mind to snap their necks. Yuri looks at her, shocked.

Yuri: Let them have the egg. We have everything we need.

The surviving Soviets leave. Lilian falls to her knees, her nose bleeding. Afterwards both Hastings are sent to the hospital for medical attention.

Dr. Powell: How are they?
Doctor: Alan was shot in the left lung, with Lilian, given her psychic abilities, she's reaching limits to her brain. If she strains any further, it might kill her.

Powell sighs.

Powell: Can you save them?
Doctor: We will do out best. But they need rest.
Dr. Powell: Thank you, Doctor.

Alan and Lilian rest in the hospital. Back on Monsterland, the Stygimorahs check their egg, which is unharmed. In China, Tyrannogigas starts waking up.
