TYSM FOR INCLUDING THE UPSIDE DOWN CROSS
It's actually not anti-religious at all. It's a Catholic symbol.
I guess I commented already but HERE IS AN UPDATED COMMENT YAY

Peace sign, Illumiati, that nuclear sign or whatever, German cross, pentagram,Β Yin and yang symbolΒ and upside down cross.
I know the meaning of all of them.

Oh my god, I am a Theistic Luciferian and I cringe everytime I see people wave around with the Saint Patrick's Cross or the Pentagram.

That is true... but the meaning of symbols have also been twisted and mutated over time. Look at symbols like the pentagram. It was harmless before the church declared it an evil symbol...
At least I create my own symbols, so I can say definitively what they mean.

Tell me about it. It's also sad to see that the Satanists perverted the upside down cross as it was to mean a symbol of Saint Peter. Plus it's saddening to me that people wear the cross and they have no idea what God commands.

Especially the pagan or satanic symbols I mean freaking Hollywood has gotta bullshit a pretty calm and ancient religionΒ

I don't like that those symbols are often used to look "edgy" or "dark" or something like that.Β
The brand Killstar is a perfect example of what not to wear when it comes to symbols of which you don't know the meaning Β

LunaBones [2017-01-23 22:50:07 +0000 UTC]
This is what bothers me about nu-goth, pastel goth and brands like Killstar. They have pentagrams, crucifixes and various other symbols all over the clothing and I can't help but feel like they're being used for nothing more than a fashion statement which in my eyes is horribly disrespectful. I especially dislike how pagan, occultic and satanic imagery is used for the purpose of looking edgy and dark by teenagers who want to appear cool. I see no issue with it if, obviously, you are a part of such religions or if you're not but you have respect and a real understanding of the items in question.Β

DinowCookie In reply to LunaBones [2017-01-24 07:38:24 +0000 UTC]
Exactly, and even though I like the aesthetics of those styles and brands you've mentioned, I will never wear any of it.Β
Already used to be an issue for me with more traditional goth clothing, which include a lot of crosses.Β
It's unfortunate.Β
Not just because it can be disrespectful, but also the symbol loses it's meaning due to this.
People wear brands, symbols, styles, to connect with people with similar interests.Β
But nowadays when you see someone wear a pentagram, you cannot tell whether or not it means something.
When you see someone wear a Nirvana T-shirt, you won't know whether they're actually a fan.Β
Makes it harder to connect too.Β

OMG THANK YOUΒ
As a Pagan, it makes me so mad when people wear a pentacle for fashion. It's a very old religious symbol and I wear it in honor of my religion.Β
My religion is not a fashion statement.Β

Someone drew a Star of David on a school desk one day. Everyone accused me of drawing it, and then in turn accused me of being a Satanist (because I'm known for listening to loud metal music).
My only response is:

xD yeah that's quite ridiculous
Funny how people often associate metal music with satanism. Not everyone who likes dark things, is instantly a satanist Β

Yeah. I take no accusations of Satanism from people who can't even count. As for metal music, we blame it for ruining our children when rap is the real problem here. I mean, so what is the metal singer is being loud and shrieking? At least they're not being racist or sexist.

I know what a few of these actually mean but could you explain the actual meanings of these symbols? I'm very curious

They're the Yin/Yang symbol, the Satanic Pentagram, the inverted cross, the all-seeing eye of the Freemasons/Illuminati, the peace sign and the nuclear hazard symbol. Hope that helped.

Not very sure, but are you suggesting that the peace symbol is bad? Thought it was considered good? xD
Same with maybe that other symbol, and maybe other. But I'm mainly just wonder about the peace symbol. lol

DinowCookie In reply to wwwarea [2017-03-03 10:18:50 +0000 UTC]
Insanely late reply, but no, I am not suggesting any of these are either good or bad. You shouldn't wear symbols of which you don't know the meaning, no matter if they're "good" or not

DinowCookie In reply to wwwarea [2015-03-27 11:19:53 +0000 UTC]
Hehe I am not saying any of these symbols are good or bad at all, I am just saying that you shouldn't wear them without knowing what they stand for Β

Vovina-de-Micaloz [2015-01-13 23:34:15 +0000 UTC]
Yep.
Especially the "peace sign"... too many people wear the damn thing, when realistically it means "death" or vulnerability, absorbing negative energy.

Isn't one of those the Iron Cross, which used to be an award for personnel in the German military during the World Wars which is now used as the symbol of the modern German armed forces?
Or am I mistaken?

Same here. I'm Pagan and wear an upright pentacle, one of my teachers bitched and whined about it and told me to take it off. Wtf, what about freedom of religion??Β
π: 0 β©: 1
DinowCookie In reply to Thosehauntingshadows [2014-07-18 10:20:59 +0000 UTC]
well there is a difference between the upright and upside down pentagram for as far as I know, and the pentagram with the point down is indeed (sometimes) associated with satanism as it symbolizes a devil-like figure, the pentagram has many different meanings for what I know
π: 0 β©: 1
Thosehauntingshadows In reply to DinowCookie [2014-07-18 17:55:40 +0000 UTC]
Ya but what I meant was the up right pentagram it just really bothers me when people use it as a "symbol of satan"
