Description
EDIT: Final prices and sizes in place, its all ready now!Say hello to my li' frend!
So here it is, the 2005 space calendar...........available in...........September?
Well yes! why? Last year, i got a lot of comments/notes saying that they needed to save up to buy it. So i decided to release it early, so that they have plenty of time to get money together and get it while it's still sensible to get a 2005 calendar! After all, not everyone gets a calendar in February or March
This calendar took me roughly a week to finish, which surprised me, since i didnt think i could put together artwork so quickly and still be very satisfied with the end result.
I am seriously considering submitting my favorite months as wallpapers and even actual prints. May, September, and November are definetely in the cool list.
I compare this calendar to last year's, and i surprise myself how much i've learned. I think that any month of this calendar is better than any month from the 2004 calendar. But that's just me
As you may have noticed, i did some recycling, meaning that i used existing artwork of mine. Why? because i thought it would be cool to have it in the calendar. Which months used recycling? February and November, most clearly (although with a few modifications)
My most favorite months? November and May
My least favorite months? April and July. Actually, July looks much better at full view. And i mean the REAL full view, not the deviantART's full view
Thank you for looking and dont forget to leae a thought or 2

Any chance of a larger release of August or November? The depth of the gas work there is extremely intriguing.

I was never a big fan of august and november was turned into many different pieces. I may prep them and upload them, though. After all I've submitted June, May, and February in one way or another

Yeh, i read in the description that you didn't like November so I thought it may be a bit of a lost cause releasing that Still, i'm a sucker for the deep red. Why didn't you like august? TBH those two are two of the best nebs i've seen around judging by those thumbs. I hope you do release, would be good to try and read between the lines as to how you worked.

I wrote that I did like November in the description
August works but in thumbnail. There's little detail in full view. If you want, I can email you a larger version so you can see how its smoke and mirrors

That neb is freaking glorious. I see what you are saying bout the thumb looking more detailed, but when the lighting is as good as that it don't matter. I particularly like the star-less one (always have been inclined toward starless nebs ala Phoenix by Greg.) Its the dramatic quality of it that becomes so striking. It is almost like you are using Caravaggio-esque principals. Without stars it could even be a dramatic cloud scape; fitting in the works of Milton or Blake perhaps.

Hmm thats an interesting theory. I never saw much Caravaggio-ness in it. I think that its a good concept but it needs a lot more definition (details).

Its the dramatic nature of the lighting, the heavy contrasts, that led me to the Carravaggio reference. But yes, further detailing would be needed for a production of the work, but as a study it works perfectly.

I will probably take a print out (Coloured one) of it and then frame it and then hang it in my drawing room.
Or is it necessary to get a print form dA?
Nice one.
