Anyone with a spine knows that this has gotten out of hand. Bitch machines think they have a right to shut other people up because they are (way too easily) offended.It is not right that one has to speak in the same way as one walks through a mine field. Every word could possibly offend someone. You know what? It's not right. I won't even get into the stupid specific sugar-coatings that go around because it'd be so much that dA would explode when you opened this page. Words are simply a translation of the mind. Getting rid of the words does not get rid of the ideas, so why bother? Stop trying to control everything.
One day, I got a bit of a sting when I had to pause to think of the right non-offensive word to say. That was when I let go and started talking freely. Have you had your turning point yet?

I've been wanting to make a poster about this subject for a while; I got the idea one day, and decided that it was perhaps the best approach. Like I always say, seemed like a good idea at the time.
I drew the shape in vector and then the specific letters accordingly with the pen tool. Come to think of it......this is perhaps my first 100% vector piece.
After the vector was done, I was ready to add some slogans and different color bars for the title and all. But I quickly grew tired of those and felt they were unnecessary. It started to look more like a book cover than a poster. So I decided to strip everything (as they say, less is more) and leave the vector, the main message, and enough hints to realize that the "politically correct" is about to eat shit.

Good comments. I agree that censorship has become hum... a pisser. But there are also multiple cases of people saying terrible things that SHOULD have been censored. But I think you're right. In the end, the best we can do is control what someone said in a smart way... It's just so easy to offend, blame, or sue everyone.

Which words are you thinking of specifically though?
I mean, I support freedom of speech wholeheartedly obviously, however, it's a privilege rather than a right, and with it comes responsibility, I don't think that outwardly cursing a religion, a group of people, or a race should be protected by freedom of speech, to be honest. If people don't have anything constructive to say, then shut the fuck up.

I'm thinking of the little inane and relatively meaningless words that we're forced to twist (for example, the holidays). Another one would be black vs african american, or disabled and handicap, etc, etc.
I do have to disagree about freedom of speech being a privilege rather than a right, but lets say that it is a privilege: it doesnt make it right to shut others up. It would be morally presumptuous (sp?). And in any case, we should be free to express our minds. There is a limit when it comes to offending others with your words, but that threshold is becoming waaaaaay too sensitive for some who think they have a right to mute others. It is not their right to shut us up, it is our right to say.
But like you say, I do agree that there are people who cross the line, and (at least in the US), there is enough freedom of speech to protect the speech of the most hateful of Nazis. But when it comes to their actions........then thats another story.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. However, I do have to say that I don't ever think that people should have the right taken away from them, simply that they act accordingly to the privilege, thinking before saying morally degrading or generally racist things.
