Description This is a shot (That I admit that I did not myself take, this was before I got my snazzy digital camera and I did not have my film camera handy)...
Anyways, this is from the first show that I designed, THE TRAGICAL HISTORY OF DOCTOR FAUSTUS by Christopher Marlowe adapted by Warren Robinson... (now that was a mouthful) I did the lighting and special effects design myself, and had a part in the collaberative efforts of the sound, set, wardrobe and staging desgins. This show was the most celebrated of the 2002 Sears Ontario Drama Festival Showcase and closed the festival. This picture was taken at the first preformance on the stage at the Blyth Festival.
This is in the scene where Faustus summons Mephistophilies to sell his soul.

Awesome

I saw a production of Faustus two months back at the Globe Theatre. It's really interesting seeing productions there, as they don't use any lighting equipment.

I've heard about that production! Totally Jealous I've always wanted to see something at the reconstructed Globe Theatre!
I love tech, but really good theatre doesn't NEED tech. I'd love to experience theatre there. SO COOL.

Thanks XD...
Not bad for a festival play?

There are limitations on time for the SEARS festival, all preformances must be less than 50 minuites in length, and you only get 2 hours for your technical rehersal in the space.
Before then you haven't ever usually even been on the stage before! So a lot of intricate planning has to happen to make a golden show.

I used the first hour of the tech rehersal to place the set and jog-down lighting states (manual board). Mmmm... Majic Sheets are my BEST FRIEND!! not to mention grid plots.

Anyways, in this shot the lighting fades down and intensifies on Faustus @ center, it looked pretty cool as it was timed to correspond with the fog and the arrival of the chorus of demons.
