Interesting reading the comments on this piece, I see a heartbreaker rather that a broken heart but I think that has more to do with her facial expression than the composition. One of your more powerful pieces for sure and really stunning.

Hmmm....yes I see what you mean, that makes the picture so much more......sad isn't the right word and I can't think of the correct term, sorrowful perhaps.

Thank you...I dont think she's so much a heart breaker, as...perhaps cold, as a way to protect herself from any further hurt.

this is one of my all time absolute favourites from you. it's strong and so so fragile at the same time. because i know you i 'think' i understand it, but i'll leave the psychoanalysis out. im just going to fav the piece and leave the drool on the monitor.

Hey hey hey! Can i sugest something? How about you do just padrons in the acrylic? I say that because you have a wonderfull taste for colors and forms all balanced, think about it

Maybe when my kids are older I'll be able to under take a REAL painting project without worry of someone painting over it, stealing it and hanging it in thier room (sweet actually), someone dumping my paint all over...etc.
Thanks Sergio!

a fantastic mixed media piece! the eyes being covered are symbolic, but of what? I should know this... the colour combinations are thrilling, even the holy heart manages to work without seeming over-the-top. the downturned corners of the mouth, the velvety smoothness against angled lines, (i'm going to stop here and continue this hero-worship in my head.)

Duh...thank you.

The eyes covered is maybe her only gesture of willingness to...love again.

bold, striking and turbulent
agitation comes across forcefully.
with the dark and soft tones.
Just as an alternative,
I imagined the picture without the heart. Then it makes more aesthetic sense. Its placement and obvious state it is in, both make the display unnecessary, I feel. Her placement in that rather rough frame-like structure - being wedged - is enough, really. To convey her predicament.
[aware of the paradox of who is talking of subtelty!!! LOL]
[and PS : gave the same comment earlier, it hasn't shown yet]

The lines and angles of her face seem so rigid, but I like it because it fits in with the broken heart. A very sad but beautiful image!

I like the smoothness and the cool tones of the face. Your kids' painting helps to add randomness and intrigue to this. I've had Tori Amos on the brain today, so maybe it is for that reason that the central figure reminds me of her.
