I disagree on a big chunk, for one 1 the sketch style is suppose to add the lighter humor effect, just saying "I don't like those" is not critique material dude. Even if you don't like it the way you worded it was bad to say the least.
And if anything the color is what needs more work, not that is its bad but it can be better then it is and they are only smaller hues of the original mainly, that's where you should of mentioned it to be "dull" Because if anything color is where you can be the most exciting. I myself don't feel the need too critique this but seeing your's makes me want to point out why this one just seems inaccurate.

Well I agree with the issue on colour now that you mentioned it, and I guess I was a little bit harsh about using a sketchy style. Truthfully though, I just never enjoyed seeing a sketchy style. I've been taught to sort of avoid sketchiness in some of the art classes I've been to. I'll try and re-think this again whenever Jay would request a critique (100 words to write a detailed critique is pretty small for me).

Art classes aren't always best places too set rules, often teachers will contradict each other's opinions because art doesn't have any universal rules, its all art, and some times things that would usually be out-of-place fit well somehow somewhere else. And vice-versa. It all depends on preference but saying you can't use one particular way at all doesn't give the artist much credit nor can it really be a jumping off point to try something else because I have seen some wondrous pieces in sketch format on purpose. It all depends how widely someone can use there horizons too :/

I see what you're saying. You think I should have tried to make my own opinion before going by another artist's rules? Well now that you mentioned that, if I were to give my opinion on the last frame honestly I could say maybe the style fits. I was also judging too by standards of other types of cartoons (hey this was a cartoon, right?) and used those standards to come up with that judgement. I really like what you have said, and I think I'll let myself come up with an opinion before I go directly to a certain standard. I really appreciate the advice, and I'll try to see if I can form my own opinion next time.

i finally found the "definitions" of those 4 rating star button things, so i can now give a more accurate critique using those (but i also like to use more fluid analysis because art isnt about rigid guidelines (i hope)
as for originality, the characters are in quite a unique situation, *with the stool, the pokemon, the twilight reference, as well as choking on a sparkle XD* (but again due to most of it being taken from other places, i cant give a perfect score, but even using other material in a new way you CAN create something purely original... this one was tough to judge
vision? lets see... with 2 different styles, both used to play with your emotional reaction *one being fantastical(to express the romantic magnitude of the kiss), the other being sketchy and silly (to keep people from taking the choking to serious) im giving you a higher vision because of how well these work together.
both technique and impact are high because of the previous mentions, you completely shift the tone of the image in the second panel, and the first one is very adorable, it hits you with a double whammy (especially if you note how serious guitar looks in the second panel worried about the girl)
you have the "aww thats so cute!" and then "is she ok?" and then "pffft! twilight sparkles ruin everything!"
the part i like the most is guitar on the stool to reach her for the kiss, i find that adorable. i really do. its like "i have to climb onto this, and i look like an idiot, but im gonna do it anyway!"...is he balancing that stool on 2 legs?
its the tiny details that make the imagery really good, anything can have a strong impact (even tiny doodles) and usually its something synergistic within the image itself.
this one has the tiny wobbles of the stool, the eyes seen through the hair that i like quite a lot (the shading on the fur is quite pretty) and as always in your pictures, the facial expressions!
3 other things to note.
1. the earnings, a tiny detail that draw the eye to tiny details on her body (like her hair braid thing)
2. guitars chest mark. the angle is probably just far to awkward, but it looks to go across his chest without forming the normal M like symbol (its not a full M but its the closest way to describe it)
3. also his left hand in the top panel appears to be a furry blob, i have been looking at pictures of official artwork as well as fanart of zangoose, and several of them have that same *no claws visible* depiction. i did not know about this distinction and i find it interesting to note.
ok last note! love the romance, love the humor, the contrast in height is adorable, it never says who the vampire is ;_;
