the lighting was the first thing i noticed. the second was the facial expressions, and finally the clothing.
i mention these 3 things because while the rest is very good, these 3 things are what made me want to write this review.
the impact from dancing is to show emotion in movement, and to capture that in a single image is quite difficult
i feel you have successfully depicted emotion, not just in showing movement (because technically this pose is when they pause in the dance), but in showing fluidity, it actually does appear that they are dancing.
a lot of tiny details are what make this such a good image. the tiny bobbles on his hat, the rose with one leaf in his teeth, and most of all the flair of the girls hair.
that flair, as well as in her dress are what show the movement, that singular place in time where everything stopped, but the movement is still captured. i love it.
it dosnt hurt that you can draw cloth exceptionally well, or that the faces are amazing, but those are just bonus's to an already great piece.
also i must add how classy this image is. they look amazing together, not because they appear in any way over the top, but because dancing is about emotion, and its so difficult to depict that in a pure form (dance being so easy to depict as sexual in imagery)
many images that depict this particular pose emphasis the feminine body, while nothing is wrong with that exactly, its nice to see someone draw a picture that dosnt emphasis it almost at all.
again i do feel beauty has been depicted here, emotion also, thank you for making such a wonderful picture.

I drew and colored the dancers with Paint Tool Sai, then I threw it onto photoshop CS5 for the background and spot lights.

You're not bugging me. I just use the pen tool for and outline, then I select theare that I want to be colored with the wand tool on multiple color layers underneath.
After I get the base colors done I take out the airbrush tool and shade.
I'll probably be making a vid of how I color and shade soon so I can help my watchers out.
