When the three brother gods Odin, Vili and Ve had finished creating this world they took a stroll by the sea. Upon discovering two trees that had washed up the brothers decided to create a new race from the driftwood. Odin breathed life back into the logs, Ve gave them warmth and blood, and Vili shone wisdom into them. One tree was an Ash, it took it’s new form as a man and stood up, he was called Askr. The other tree was an elm, and this became the first woman Embla”.
