Description
As you can probably guess, this work draws from both Lewis Carroll and Expressionism. Also, there is some Jungian thing going on with the shadow.I dedicate this work to `saintartaud , because she's awesome. She has been very influential on my cultural development, pointing me to artists, films, books, comics, musicians and other things I wouldn't know about if she hadn't recommended them. This work is a "thank you" card of sorts for her. For you, AR.

This is amazing and doesn't even remotely look photoshopped to me.
I adore the concept and how you played it on into art work.. well done

Lovely photograph.
It's refreshing to see a piece of art inspired by Lewis Carroll's books, and not necessarily by the Tim Burtonesque version that is currently so popular.

Well, I did this piece back in 2004
If anything, I think this was more inspired by the Jan Svankmajer version, which does feel a bit creepy and even dangerous at some parts. Alice is a stranger in a strange land and should watch out for whatever may sneak up on her

I like this creation, the pose fits the picture perfectly without seeming intentional.

Oooooh, very creepy.
And the oddness of her pose, what with her tiptoeing and all, makes it seem even more creative.
Even the background wall, which at first appears ordinary, is actually interesting.

i also loved it how you incoorporated all of that body language that comes with dance. You could have simply put a little girl in the corner, but you took advantage of everything that's on your side. And because of that you showed us a whole new dimension. It's fantastic. 'should be proud.

Tim Burton is not an Expressionist, although you can totally see the influence in his visual style, although he mixes it a bit with the work of Edward Gorey.
But, thanks. Glad you liked it
