Description
Marina never did anything in a kitchen before. You can clearly see it the way she mutilated the last carrot. ^^But Silver starts giving her some lessons starting with how to handle a knife and the difference between slicing, carving, and hacking.
Of course, while he's teaching her here, her heart starts pounding hard as she is listening to the kind tone in his voice. It's as though his voice was softly kissing her ear. And she begins to enjoy the feeling of his hands so gently touching hers.
This is a scene that will happen eventually in my story. It has been in my head for a long time now and I have finally finished it. I made a sketch of it a long time ago and I finally decided to redo it and I know I made it a lot better.
I used a bit of reference for Silver's arm, the lighting, and mainly the background. The background was such a pain and turned out awful, so I improvised by making it extra blurry and made some steam around the place.
I think I made Marina a bit too small for this pic, but right here, I think it all looks a little cute. I mean the gentle giant has his arms around the little lady. ^///^
LOL. I know you're gonna think that those carrot things are WAY too big. But hey, this does take place in an 'alien' universe or such. They could've grown on a very fertile planet where the vegetation grow large and tasty. ^_^
Anywho, I wanted to really submit this when the chapter of it happening came up. But I realized that it's been a while since the last submit of Silver and Marina. So, here it is, and you can think of it as a preview of what's going to go on between the couple.

I think it's hilarious that people try to accuse me of trolling when I'm always constructive. Or try to say I'm in some way "fixated" on her when she only posts a few times a month, and I don't even critique all of what she does.
I think you have to do something more than once or twice a month to be fixated on it. LOL

And let's not forget that you have been asked to review her art, I'm not sure why since Andrea doesn't seem pay that much attention to critiques anyway. :S But I guess people call out to your comments because of their bluntness. I'm not sure why being blunt should be related to trolling.

Really? harshly critisizing a someone like Andrea for as long as you have when you know the only thing that will come out of it is an obnoxious answer from DF and potential for more drama, seems a bit odd, something a trolla troll might would do, too. Why are you so fixated on this girl?

You misunderstand. I'm not being critical, or at least I'm not trying to be. I'm asking questions because I'm simply curious. Everyone on dA usually knows another deviant personally.
Now, what is it you lend critisizm to? Artwork, comments, or both? It sounds like you do your fair share of both. You are right, however, that there's no rule against it. However, as I've said, everyone has their oppinion. Is your goal to make them rethink their oppinion and change their point of view? Of course, I see the obsurdity of that.
My question was simply "Do you work for Disney?". Actually, I work there too. I work in some of the shops part-time. If I'd been inquiring about the involvment of art in her profession, I would have stated so.
I appriciate your oppinions, however mine stands. I really like her artwork.
And as reguards my two cents about jumping into someone else's conversation, that is my oppinion. However, you strike me as the type of person to do so in person. Are you(again, I'm only curious)? Say someone had complimented someone else on a top or their jeans or their shoes and claimed that it/they were sharp or cool or whatever. Would you step in and correct them if you dissagreed?

Ah, I see. You called me a borderline bully for giving her a negative critique "non critically."
Fine. Whatever.
I never "critique" comments. I simply felt you'd gotten the wrong impression, that's why I spoke up. The rest? You asked.
You mean butt into conversations in person? No, not really. But how is that relevant? A conversation, even in a public place, is a personal thing. Nothing said on a public forum is private or personal. These are forums for group discussion.

ThreeNightsOfTerror In reply to VictorianPaperAngel [2012-08-07 23:25:23 +0000 UTC]
Of course I did. Apparently it's possible for someone to express themselves and be rash about it but not be critical, or so is my understanding, supplied by several encounters with dA users who act in such a way.
And yes, I've asked you several questions. You've only answered a handful of them, though. I hope I'm not comming across as rude.
How is this different from a conversation in public? I was talking to her, about a drawing she'd done. So she asnwered me in a way that seemed misleading, but so what? If you witnessed a similar situation in a public place, would you step in as you did here? In some light, you were doing the right thing, and I can respect you for that. I don't understand why it be any of your concern to step in and shed light on that particular subject, however. If she was inteneding to mislead me or not, well, that's between she and I.
And also, if I can direct your attention to the comments given, these are not forums. In the likely event that you'd argue with me on that point, are they? Then please explain to me why, under my 'Recent Activity' tab, it doesn't say that I've comented on any forums at all. Comments, now of those I've made my fair share. But 0 Forum Comments. If this is a forum, shouldn't there be at least one there?
Once again, bear in mind that I mean to say all of this in a civil manner.

Then by all means, re-ask the ones that I did not answer.
And yes, I actually believe bulling is a serious issue, and consider flippantly throwing the word around rude. I also find "So you think you can do better?" And "Would you do that in public?" also very rude. You're not acting like someone who's attempting to make polite inquiries at all. Then, when someone responds to you you try to portray yourself as never having made a hostile word, and well, that's kind of rude too.
So don't call me a bully then call yourself civil, please.
These are comment sections. Not a conversation between two people. I'm a little surprised anyone would try to portray the two as being the same, and having the same etiquette. I doubt you're really that stupid, and are merely trying to put together an argument and not doing a very good job.
Ditto no not knowing what the word "Forum" means a place for group discussion. Obviously I was referring to an open comment thread as a forum. Not specifically referring to this as THE forum section of the site.
However, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and put you down as merely being rude again, and not actually stupid.

"However, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and put you down as merely being rude again, and not actually stupid." lol, you know, it's your bluntness that really makes your critics worthwhile. I know this comment is somewhat old, I just wanted to say I think it's stupid to accuse you of trolling whent all of your critique is constructive and directed towards her "art".

ThreeNightsOfTerror In reply to VictorianPaperAngel [2012-08-08 20:09:48 +0000 UTC]
By all means, call me rude. I've never been the nicest person in the world. When people step on my toes, I shove back. Although, at this point I take back what I said earlier. There's nothing borderline about what you're doing. I mean to ask all these questions and more with one simple goal in mind; to understand why you say the things you have. I fail to see how asking how you would respond to an expiriance in real-life as opposed to deviantart rude, however. Perhaps you are mistaking my reason for asking; I am not asking in an attempt to make it seem like you've got character flaws. I'm asking as to how you would respond, because obviously I don't know you at all. Knowing the person before you interperate their words can avoid quite a bit of confusion, but apparently you've taken this wrong anyways.
Now, when did I say "So you think you can do better"? I know I never said that. I did bring up your artwork, that's true, but I never used those exact words. And really, you don't draw much, and your level is different than hers(not lower, just different), and most artists prefer someone who is at their same level or better than they are to critique their work. It makes no sense to me that someone who claims to have a better knowlage of how to apply all the aspects you've mentioned but who doesn't use them herself telling another artist how she should improve. But, as you put it, whatever.
Now, the comment sections of devianart serve one purpose. The artist uploads their work, and you leave a comment on it. The general idea is to leave a helpful and/or encouraging critique of their work, not to find a comment you disagree with and begin a lengthy conversation as to how their views are askew. And also, I can tell you don't agree with me. I can also tell that you tend to be a bit too abrasive when stating your views. You've been a member of deviantART for four years, I see. I've had several acconts within the last eight years. I can find people who agree with me that the comments people leave definetly are between two people, the artist and the person leaving the comment. I'm also sure that you can find people who agree with you, that there's absolutely nothing wrong with jumping in and adding your two cents at will. At this point, neither of us is making any headway, and I've got better things to do with my time than to take a poll.
Another thing I'd like to point out; "Obviously I was referring to an open comment thread as a forum. Not specifically referring to this as THE forum section of the site. However, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and put you down as merely being rude again, and not actually stupid." So in other words you said one thing, meant another, and then when someone applies what you actually did say to the current topic, you have the audacity to call them stupid?
In the future, save us both the headache and ignore my comments. I wasn't adressing you, and your oppinion of what I was being informed of wasn't warrented. Go about your merry way, and I shall do likewise.

Let me be very, very clear.
I did not step on your toes. I did not shove. You did not "shove back" after being shoved.
Look back at the thread. You ASKED me why I thought it was odd that you thought this artwork was good enough for her to work at the most prestigious animation studio in the world. I ANSWERED.
You then called me a bully and proceed to lecture me on my answer like a snotty little brat, all the while declaring that you "weren't jumping down my throat" and praising yourself on how civil you were.
If you're so self-deluded that you do not realize this is what happened, go back and look. Here is a link.
[link]
Oh, and you said "Can you draw the way she can?" and not "Do you think you can do better?" Oh excuse me. I used a different set of words that mean the exact same thing. I beg your pardon. Oh, but you never said it, because you didn't say THOSE EXACT WORDS. *eye roll* Are you Sarah Palin in disguise or something?
And no, Kitten, I didn't call you stupid. I said I would give you the benefit of the doubt and NOT call you stupid. You should know.
You quoted it. It's right there.
This is just kind of pitiful.

Pitiful as though it may be, you still responded to every little bit of it. My oppinion holds. I like her artwork.
You misread the tone of my questions. I have nothing more to say on that matter. And I never praised myself on being civil. I said that I meant everything in a civil tone, yes, but I could care less right now how you interperated it. Now, if you wish to continue this pathetic argument, by all means, go right ahead. Apparently, even though you have the loswest views possible of every word I've said, you've taken the time to argue every single point.
And this little P.S note about child rape. If you are reffering to Encounters, perhaps you haven't read it, but there is no rape involved. There is physical violence, yes, a great deal. That's the point of it all. There is nothing pornographic about it, however. It has a mature content filter on it for anyone who just happens to read it and think that the violence warrented the filter.

Excuse me.
I've worked in public schools. Bullying is a serious thing, and I take being called a bully seriously. I did no "misread" your tone. You said it, and I found it offensive.
So, when you came back and talked about how "civil" you had been, yes, I found that offensive too. Because, you had not been. You were preachy and obnoxious as well as insulting me by calling me a bully.
Again, that's words, not tone, dear. So, don't go around putting this on me.
Oh, I admit I only skimmed and stopped reading when the monster ripped off Jim's belt. Describing Jim as "totally freaking out" while being assaulted was unintentionally hilarious though.

Thank you. Actually, it was intnetional. I've read a few fanfictions before, and what I like, I incorperate. It was an attempt to lighten the mood, since the first encounter would be nothing in comparison to the next. It's not something I'm putting a lot of work into, so it is what it is, and it's not what it's not. It's been getting good reviews, though, so it's continued.
By this point, it's obvious you found it offensive. Other people find your comments offensive, but you clearly disagree with them, and since you can back all of your words up, you see nothing wrong with it. If you've had so much expirience, then perhaps you know that personalities clash quite frequently. Someone can say something that's totally true in a way that totally lacks tact and they can walk away thinking they're as innocent as a dove, while it leaves the other person either angry or insulted or whatever the case may be. It's not what is said. It's how it's said. I apologize if you interperated it that way.

You did not "Say something true in a way that lacked tact."
You called someone a bully for offering an art critique on an art critique site.
There was no "interpretation" involved. There is no WAY to call someone a bully flippantly and without justification in which you will be "innocent as a dove."
