Edit: I would LOVE to add more games to this stamp. However, I've lost the PSD or overwritten it somehow so I'd have to make an entire new stamp, and to be honest I dont feel I need to right now.But! Leave the games you'd like to see added in the comments and when I do remake it, I'll have a look at including it!
I HATE HATE HATE it when people write off a game because it's not realistic enough.
Most of you know this already to be my most HATED thing of all time. Other than cheese.
People dont like Wind Waker, Mario, Okami, Pokemon etc because the graphics dont show up every hair folicle on the goddam face.
There's a time and place and genre for realistic games.
I dont hate realism, my goodness, I love Resident Evil for gods sake.
But because people bitch too much about unrealistic graphics, here's my opinion about it.
My biggest irk is Wind Waker. It is probably one of the TOP Zelda games, and yet people look down on it because of it being cel shaded. It is a stunning game.
Thank god for games such as the upcoming Tales of Vesperia and the recently released Madworld.
And where would we be without Pokemon? It's a revolutionary RPG beneath the childish demeanor, changing the ye olde Black Magick/White Magicke fantasy RPG entirely.
Dont anyone start bitching onto me about how lame I am for not liking realism in games.
I do like realism in games, but I hate it when people cant open their eyes to other types of graphics.

This is one of the reasons why I still play retro games like the snes and such. I prefer style over realism any day, mainly because if you want realism, you can go outside and get plenty of reality. Some games do need realistic graphics, like the horror series Silent Hill to make it scary, but to me, a strong art style is far better than realistic graphics with barely any style to them.

I totally agree. Just because the game doesn't look realistic enough according to those "Hardcore" gamers, doesn't mean it's crap. To me, I find realism accepteable in games like Portal 2 or Bioshock.
Plus, I like games that take you away from Reality & into the game's world, whether it be Cartooney (Sonic or Mario), Mystical (Okami, Zelda, or Final Fantasy) Anime (Street Fighter or Chrno Trigger), or Dreamlike (NiGHTS or Classic Spyro).
A Game's aspects is Music, Story (simple or lenghty, depends on your choice), GOOD Character Development & the most important: Gameplay.

It sucks when people bash something cuz it's "unrealistic".
Um, HELLO, video games aren't even supposed to be real, so why should you care? And besides, some of the best games out there, don't even sport realism.
I mean, the only games with realism-like graphics I can give a care about are Enslaved and Duke Nukem. Otherwise I'm all for the cartoony stuff.

Couldn't agree more. It pisses me off when people call games like Okami and Wind Waker "crap" because of the cel-shaded graphics--they're really fun! And now people are whining about Skyward Sword's graphics, too.>_>(perhaps, if you haven't made the other stamp yet, you can include SS, as well? That is my suggested game.) And really? People whine about the graphics in POKEMON?
Anyway, since I don't have a subscription, I can't use this, but I will fave it!

Just because Okami isn't realistic doesn't make it a bad game. Heck, the graphics are SUPPOSED to look like a drawing. They're part of the game's "feel".

It's sad when people disregard a game just because of its graphics. I mean, it's their loss, but sadly it also matters for the publisher. If games with less realistic graphics won't sell, the industry might simply focus on boring but really realistic games.

Okami is SO awesome! Best game of 2007, not that shitty ass Call of Duty 4. Games need to be less about war and more about fun, not that "n00b" or "pwnage" bullshit! Fuck Captain Price! Give me Amaterasu!

i more than agree with this, so hard. and i so agree with WW. i mean, OoT wa a groundbreaking 3D expansion into the universe of gaming, but there is so much more you can do in WW that its just mind-blowing! all the crap that the developers managed to squeeze into that tiny, just over 4GB disk is just...amazing! people dislike it too much simply because of how it looks...but if you really stand back and look at it compared to the fancy TP that was released...TP takes so many mechanics from WW its astounding. they ripped because it was proven to work!
you shouldnt care how a game looks, you should care about its mechanics before you worry about looks. it can look as fancy as all heck if it wants to, but if the game mechanics are broken, nobody will want to stay with the game. Same goes for the other way around. If the graphics are simple, but the playability is super immersive, its much more fun to play.
even if you look at games that are "realistic" by today's standards and what engines can now do with them, you fail to find one that is so hyper-realistic. nobody would want to play a game that is hyper-realistic. Besides, hyper-realistic games, such as Crysis and whatever, are meant as PC only games... i could go into the mechanics about it, but thats something im sure you dont wanna hear about.

I agree. There's also considered good graphics for their time, like Freddi Fish. MS Paint graphics on the characters, but relaxing seascapes

you are totally right. I know a friend of a friend who doesn't like videogames at all because there not 'realistic' enough. I'm just trying to keep myself quiet and not completely expolde at her because I love pokemon and okami and supermario bros and I enjoyed Wind waker a lot.

I don't really see how ssbb's graphics are "unrealistic" I mean look at all the textures it just looks like the cartoony looking characters untooned. But I support this stamp!

I'm not really stating that SSBB is a stylish game, I used Mario's SSBB picture as an example of 3D Mario games.
And I guess you can call it stylish. Just because it's realistic doesn't mean it's not stylish and creative too.

Your right about that and I myself picture Mario to look like his Super Smash Bros. Brawl form in real life making him a humanoid compared to most other humans.

Not to mention that "realistic" graphics look dated as soon as better technology comes around and techniques advance, or in other words, almost instantly. Wind Waker still looks as polished and aesthetically pleasing as when it first came out despite being made a console generation ago. Things like Twilight Princess and a lot of those 'OMG realistic' PS2 games, on the other hand, look pretty 'meh' when compared with the 'OMG realistic' games of this console gen. And it will only continue in that pattern when our graphics get better in the NEXT console gen.
Plus, when a game has a simplified art style, it allows it to run smoother with less loading time, allows for more stuff to be going on onscreen at once, and overall be... better. :V

Fallout 3, Singularity, and Gears of War are the only games that I've played that have realistic blood/gore effects, but Fallout 3 isn't really my kind of game, Singularity didn't live to my expectations, and Gears of War was the only 'realistic' game I enjoyed.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising claimed to have 'realistic' blood/gore effects, but I saw none of that in it. And the AI in that game was repetitive.
Borderlands' blood/gore effects were semi-realistic at best, but the graphics were not realistic, in fact the graphics look like a comic book, but I really liked the way the graphics look.
I'm not critizing you or anything, and don't get me wrong, I don't realy care about how graphics look that much, as long as its a game that I enjoy, then that's all I really care about.

Don't get me wrong, I adore RE and other realism games too, but seriously, graphics aren't EVERYTHING! What about the storyline? Who gives a crap about graphics when the storyline is what is supposed to reel in fans! (graphics are nice too, but still!)

I was dumbfounded when I found out people didn't like the graphics in Wind Waker!
It's such a bright and colorful game! ;.; I, for one, was AMAZED by it! >0< Seriously, Link looked around randomly at important stuff while you were playing, it looked like I could just reach out and grab all the little chibi people! >w<
Second only to Ocarina of Time, but I probably just think that because that's the first Zelda game I ever played and got really far by myself! ;D

I HATE graphic whores and the "Graphics = good games" concept. They may help, but I've gone off games with good graphics because the gameplay was sub par or the story was boring or whatever.
