Description While I was reading "Howl's Moving Castle" (which is soooo much better than the movie, in my opinion), I started this. As such, this is the book version of Howl and Calcifer (though I do think that Miyazaki!Calcifer is cuter). This was just mostly experimenting more with Painter 8.

I really like it...particularly the lighting, but I also am quite fascinated with the grate in front of the fire ! Howl's Moving Castle is one thing that is definitely on my list to watch...along with a bunch of miyazaki's other films...

Ooh, I dig that soft shading. The puff shape to his right sleeve looks a little odd, though, widening so suddenly. All the curve shapes in the picture are quite pleasing to the eye.

I'm not familiar with the material this is based on, but I like it. Especially the lighting.
