Description .. and I'll come closer .. so you can get a better picture .. okay ? hey wait , where r u going .. come back .. come back ..

Okay, not the best I could do - I took this in full auto (I just wasn't ready for manual, I hadn't set the white balance yet or anything .. it all happened AGAIN so quickly - I just started shooting as soon as they noticed I had just walked up again - I didn't even have time to set my camera bag down ... anyhow, I do not like how auto works outside - ugly, huh .. )

So anyhow, I was at the zoo a couple days ago and got another tiger ( [link] ) to jump into the water and swim towards me for a rather nice full-attention picture (she is the cooperative one of these two), but THIS KITTY (pictured here a couple days ago: [link] ) simply refused to do the same that day for me. Of course, not the type of person to accept NO as a reply, particularly from a prisoner, some kind of apparent convict (ha, they are zoo tigers locked away in this jail, right?), I decided to go back today and INSIST she come out to play - ha - or else!

Funny, I did go back today, err I guess yesterday now .. to see if I could get that other kitty to play camera with me, and immediately upon showing up and calling for her to see if she was around and willing, she spring up from hiding and pranced down to the creek and dove in ( [link] ) and began swimming towards me, just like the other one two days ago.

So, now that I know how this is done, I can go back and take a much better picture, right? right!

I'll probably toss this away as soon as I try again. I really wasn't ready because I wasn't actually expecting her to be so cooperative yesterday after noon.

Thanks, but, that isn't a very good photo, technically (the color and lighting is all wrong, I had left the camera in auto mode because I just wasn't ready when I first showed up). I suppose I could post-process it some to correct things a bit, but it's not worth the effort, since I know I can now go back and try for better next time. The similar photo of the other kitty I took and posted a couple days ago is closer to the look/feel I want to capture. I don't like that direct harsh sunlight in this either. I will keep trying until I get exactly what I think is possible - ha. Second to these kitties I find the prairie dogs a lot of fun to photograph (right now their new little babies are so cute). Then the lynx are next. Then the birds.

Yes, I like tigers too. There are four around here that I've tried to get pictures of, but the two I enjoy the most are the two that I've visited the most. They never seem to fail to come out and actually begin to interact with me when I show up from time to time. It's strange, they must now recognize me, or it's something I'm not aware of that's causing them to act that way (maybe it's the scent of my cat on me? I don't know). I can show up there when there are 50 people standing around and the tigers will be either hiding or just laying there doing nothing, and I'll call out to them as I always do in the same way I always do and I swear instantly I'll have their attention and they come bouncing to me (well, as close as they can get - which is apparently into the water and across that little stream too now - ha - I tried that last winter when it was ice, and he fell into the cold water when the ice broke - ha, I should post some of those pictures, they are hilarious - ha). I can get them to growl and snarl and hiss at me, and jump and roll around at play - all things kitties normally do, but just like my house cat, if they initially don't seem like they are in the mood, merely getting their attention and then heaping praise and loving positive comments upon them will cause them to start acting like giggly little kids. I know it's not that they necessarily understand the verbal part of any of this, but I think they have some kind of 6th sense that allows them to feel/know what you are trying to communicate to/with them.

Anyhow, I like that shot of them in the water coming at me looking up at me (well, not the actual pictures I've taken so far - I know I can do better, and the one I posted a couple days before is closer to what I want to get ... and I will keep trying). I want to get a shot that, when viewed from a distance, it might appear as a tiger coming at you out of some green vegetation in a forest, but not until you get closer do you realize it is a tiger swimming in the water coming towards ya. The other day when I stood back looking at the similar picture I posted here a couple days ago of the other kitty, that green shimmering water actually appeared as some kind of defocused vegetation in the background. I see now in my head how I want to get my next shot of this, and it sounds like another neat challenge to try (of course not right now, I twisted my ankle the other night and I'm probably down and out for a day or two now until the swelling goes down - ha).

Tks!

POST THE PICTURE. I LIKE STUFF AND ANIMALS AND PEOPLE FALLING INTO COLD WATER. ... IM VIOLENT AND I LOVE TO HEAR OF VIOLENCE.

DID THE TIGER REALLY HATE YOU AT ONE POINT? IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU REALLY KNOW TIGERS! I WOULD BE TOO AFRAID TO GET CLOSE TO A TIGER. I MEAN. I GUESS IT WOULD BITE MY HEAD OFF AND CHEW ON IT. I DUNNO. IS THAT WHAT TIGERS DO?

Gosh, I take so many pictures of various critters - but it's the eye-to-eye ones I love to go for the most. I haven't much time to dig through archives to find anything excitingly violent right now (I'd rather go out and shoot some more rather than look at what I've already done), and I'm sure I have something I think you'd like from past months, but I'll keep an eye out for something special and fresh and new - ha. Hey, maybe I'll go start a riot and get some pictures of that - ha. Oh, or go back and toss some deserving brat in with the kitties - ha ha ha. In any case, if you love violence, you'll be in luck next year when all hell breaks loose. Check August 2007 on your calendar (how do I know? well, ha, I'm a timespace traveler of course .. sent back here to warn these humans, but decided to steal the spacetimeship instead .... and to go renegade - ha ha ha ... nobody can catch a dreamwalker with a tss ... he he he).

About those tigers, I started visiting them last spring (2005), and they have seemed nothing but friendly and playful and happy when I come to visit. At this point I'm still curious about what they think of me: friend or food. I'm still not convinced that they are looking at me as something other than a potential meal - ha, given half the chance. And no, I don't really know anything much about cats other than what I've observed first hand. What I've recently learned is that ALL CATS are a LOT MORE intelligent than they let on to be ... they KNOW! They know what is going to happen. Nature can be so deceptive - especially when it is up to something no good - ha, from a human perspective of course.
