30th May 2017 - This is a Birthday present to my favourite Snape Cosplayer who is young Snape in this image...***Many happy returns and let's do some collaboration this year! ***
Other Hogwarts students have owls, cats, toads...I always imagine that Severus, as a student, had a raven (and probably still has, Corvus Corax can easily reach 40 years in protected living conditions). Not a bought one. He did find a young bird in the woods, possibly injured, cared for him and raised him to be his Familiar!

Yes, I can see Sevvie with a raven. I'm sure the raven is quite good at pecking and clawing at the eyes of any stags, dogs, or wolves who happen to bother Sev. The rat, of course, knows how to hide from birds, not being stupid.
